I still got it. Just today, the attractive cashier at the store was checking me out.
I was in eastern Oklahoma several years ago when a checker was looking for a customer by coming out to the end of her lane. She asked "Can I (w)ring you out"? I answered "Do I look wet"?

Re: We all love puns

I've replaced front wheel bearings without a press. Maybe in those days of yore they were not on so tight. Nor were your old Cortinas front wheel drive. Rear wheel drive cars are a whole different ball game. Easy peasy. I've done wheel bearings on many more RWDs than FWDs. If the image works, the b...

Re: We all love puns

I had to replace the front wheel bearings on my Honda Accord recently. It's a job that requires pushing the old bearing out of the part of the front suspension called a spindle. You can't push the bearing out by hand. It takes a hydraulic press capable of pushing with several tons of force to shove ...

Thanks you Mike Pence

For finally growing a spine. Granted he may still need a few visits to this chiropractor, but he stood up today, and said that ex-president Drumpf was wrong. He could not have changed the election results, making Drumpf the winner. Thank you Mr Pence. I know you're not perfect, but it's about time.

I THOUGHT I remembered that, and having asked what series of Mercedes he'd inherited from his father. He stated that it wasn't HIS inherited Mercedes 230-4 (a model I've never seen here) but Oom Willie's from his father.

I was at breakfast gathering the other morning. There were two guys I know at the next table. One was spouting antivax BS to the other. He said the vaccines are experimental, unproven. I couldn't help but overhear, and comment. I told him that all medical studies have a control group that doesn't ge...

That's the Pittsburgh with the H in PA, not the one in Kansas that didn't get one when they were dealing them out. The news pix didn't look like it was all that deep, but then 150 feet, if you were in a car or bus, 'crossing it at the time of collapse, was plenty deep. It was last inspected last Sep...

These prices are per CWT or 100 lbs. They are what the slaughter houses are paying. What we see in stores includes all of their expenses and shipping to the stores, plus store mark up. Published on: Jan 17, 2022 Cattle Prices By Year: Cattle prices were at $125 in January 2020, up $1 from the prior ...

Djokovic is just another jock who figured he could get away with it because he's gotten away with darned near everything he wanted since he became a top jock in his field. It probably started when he was a teenager in high school.

I often listen to The Morning Edition. If this has been mentioned here before, I didn't see that either.

And here crisco.com shows the butter flavored variety I bake with. https://crisco.com/shortening/
I do however use real butter in my bread and roll recipes. I also use butter flavored popcorn salt, brand name Flavacol, but not enough to turn my whole wheat bread yellow.

Re: Are you seeing empty supermarket shelves where you live?

I don't normally shop on Thursday evenings, but we were out of milk so I went with our weekly list. Having posted on this subject above, I'd like to add that the store was out of 5-pound bags of sugar and butter flavored Crisco. They had 10-pound bags, and regular shortening, but I'll wait. Darn, I ...

I had never thought of Die Hard as a Christmas movie until our kids insisted that it was. Sooo, a year ago at Christmas time we watched it. Sure enough, it's a Christmas movie. And yes, you too can have a poster depicting Washington crossing the Delaware with a motivational message. https://libertym...

I've seen some shortages, mostly of things I don't buy like lunch meats. Chicken weeks ago. Beef prices have gotten ridiculous. A couple of times I've bought brands I wouldn't normally get as my favorite was out of stock. Mrs Mc ordered extra cat and dog food from Chewy (Is Amazon cheaper?) in antic...

Mrs Mc had two collies that were quite successful in agility trials until they hit nine or ten years old. Re: Let's Make 2022 Predictions!

Eventually in 2022 nearly everyone on the planet will contract some varient of the covid 19 virus, probably after omicron, and gain at least some immunity. Then the virus will die out, or be thought of as not much worse than the common cold. (At least I can dream.)
