Re: RIP, Corporation for Public Broadcasting
Both my local NPR radio station and PBS TV station held fund raisers to drum up the support needed to match the money stolen from the CBP. The radio station reached their $230,000 goal in four days. Yes I contributed in addition to the monthly money they get from my debit card. The TV station lost e...

Re: WWIII? Or just a little fuckery?
I have never felt my country so embarrassed by its president (and vice president too, for that matter). Just totally appalling and cringe-inducing. Zelenskyy is courageously fighting to preserve his nation's democracy while Trump is fecklessly trying to end his. I hope Europe can help Ukraine survi...

Not that it has anything to do with it, but Home Despot's owner/CEO was a BIG Trump supporter. I'll probably continue to use Slowes.

First, please understand that the sign language interpreter is NOT THERE FOR THE TV AUDIENCE. They are there for the live audience in the room. It's a little hard to project little words under the speaker or on the podium. THIMK!

I don't remember voting for Elon Musk. Come to think of it, I don't remember voting for Donald Drumpf either.
I'd say, let the lying begin, but it never ended.
Did anyone else notice how he leaned in for a kiss, and Melania's broad brimmed hat repelled him? I guess I'm easily amused.

Re: I finally joined the 21st Century.
I have a seven year old Toyota Corolla with 70K on the odometer and the CVT tranny. snailgate. Yes, but he bought a Nissan. Their CVTs have a very bad reputation. Not just bad, very bad. I know of at least half a dozen that have bitten the dust under 100K. Toyota seems to have figured CVTs out.

Re: I finally joined the 21st Century.
Sometimes we have to move on. Good thinking on not buying one with a CVT. I've yet to see a Nissan Sentra or Altima CVT outlast the rest of the car unless the fluid was changed every 30,000 miles or so. When the CVT dies, out of warranty, the car may be eight or ten tears old. A $3000 transmission i...

Re: Trump shot at Pennsylvania Rally
it’s pretty impressive that one of his shots was basically a perfect sniper shot, foiled only by Trump moving his head a split second before. Had Drumpf NOT turned his head to the right, he'd be dead. If the kid had shot for center mass, instead of trying for a perfect head shot, Drumph would be de...

Re: Trump shot at Pennsylvania Rally
They should find whoever it was and throw the person in jail for being a lousy shot. CBS reports the Secret Service killed the shooter. Yup. They found him 148 yards away, and executed him, ASAP. They say they're looking for a motive. Why? We all know his motive, saving democracy. Had Drumph been l...

Re: An Eclipse.... woop dee doo!
I have a sister who lives in Fayetteville AR. Mrs Mc and I drove there Sunday evening after boarding a dog when the kennel finally opened at 4:00 Sunday afternoon. It's not a bad five hour drive, especially since the Oklahoma turnpike has newly a posted speed limit of 80 MPH. I was going 80-85, and ...

Re: I have never seen a unicorn, but
There were a pair of brothers south of Wichita who owned two Tuckers and, as they said, "enough parts to almost build another". They had bought a lot of stuff from what was left of the company sometime in the '50s. I bought a Model A Ford Touring Car from them in 1974. I got to sit in a very nice Tu...

Aircraft registered on the island of Malta have tail numbers beginning with 9H. A VistaJet private jet, dubbed “The Football Era,” with the tail number 9H-VTD, was thought by online sleuths to have Taylor Swift aboard. The chartered Falcon 900 arrived at LAX in plenty of time for TS to make the game...

Re: Any questions about results of an engineering company run by bean counters?
I remember some guys who travelled on Boeing business when I worked there used to have bumper stickers, some on their cars, and some on briefcases, that read '' IF IT'S NOT BOEING, I'M NOT GOING" . Those were the days. Boeing ran its own travel office, like an inhouse travel agency, that booked all ...

Big RR, it looks like they are still at it, and getting more so.

Unfortunately Cessna has nothing to compare to the larger Falcon jets, or Tay Tay could've bought locally.
