Re: Is MGMcAnick in the House?
I wasn't in this house, but I was in mine. Sorry I missed it. Thanks for the Midget, but I can't get my feet in and out of one.

Re: Me the drama queen
Lee is often criticized for sacrificing fifteen thousand troops in Pickett’s Charge, I didn't remember Pickett losing that many from my visits to Gettysburg, so I Googled it. It says over 6,500. I will concede that 15,000 is over 6,500. Still too many. It has been said that men were having to step ...

I filled last evening at a Love's truck stop for $3.039 with a "loyalty card" that gives 10c off. Same today, but I didn't need any.

I hope Pam Bondi was fired for finally standing up to Drumpf.
Or maybe she just got tired of having to lie for him, over and over, and over.

I have a pair of those Florsheim's, after more than 20 years they still look good and actually fit properly. I paid $49 for them. snailgate. My mother had serious foot problems due in part to trying to stuff her size 10 feet into smaller shoes. I don't know if it was a vanity thing, wanting to look...

The local Rambler dealer also sold Mercedes Benz and had sold Studebakers until their demise. He was something of a "car guy" too. Neat cars I didn't buy from him in the late '60s and early '70s. 1949 Jaguar, once owned by Alf Landon, a Kansas favorite son who was trounced by FDR in the 1936 electio...

Raymond Loewy, designer
Recent news about the Drumpf approved paint scheme for the new Air Force One planes, one of which was a bribe from some Qatari Emir, mentioned that Raymond Loewy was the designer of the of the light blue and white paint scheme of the 707s used from the Kennedy administration up to the 747s in use no...

Dang you guys are morbid. I think some of us have been hanging around, somewhat together, on the interwebs for at least 30 years. I'll be 75 in a couple months. Of course any of us could cash in our chips at any time. That's just the name of the game. I think I've been to more funerals in the last t...

Both my local NPR radio station and PBS TV station held fund raisers to drum up the support needed to match the money stolen from the CBP. The radio station reached their $230,000 goal in four days. Yes I contributed in addition to the monthly money they get from my debit card. The TV station lost e...

I have never felt my country so embarrassed by its president (and vice president too, for that matter). Just totally appalling and cringe-inducing. Zelenskyy is courageously fighting to preserve his nation's democracy while Trump is fecklessly trying to end his. I hope Europe can help Ukraine survi...

Not that it has anything to do with it, but Home Despot's owner/CEO was a BIG Trump supporter. I'll probably continue to use Slowes.

First, please understand that the sign language interpreter is NOT THERE FOR THE TV AUDIENCE. They are there for the live audience in the room. It's a little hard to project little words under the speaker or on the podium. THIMK!

I don't remember voting for Elon Musk. Come to think of it, I don't remember voting for Donald Drumpf either.
I'd say, let the lying begin, but it never ended.
Did anyone else notice how he leaned in for a kiss, and Melania's broad brimmed hat repelled him? I guess I'm easily amused.

I have a seven year old Toyota Corolla with 70K on the odometer and the CVT tranny. snailgate. Yes, but he bought a Nissan. Their CVTs have a very bad reputation. Not just bad, very bad. I know of at least half a dozen that have bitten the dust under 100K. Toyota seems to have figured CVTs out.

Re: I finally joined the 21st Century.
Sometimes we have to move on. Good thinking on not buying one with a CVT. I've yet to see a Nissan Sentra or Altima CVT outlast the rest of the car unless the fluid was changed every 30,000 miles or so. When the CVT dies, out of warranty, the car may be eight or ten tears old. A $3000 transmission i...
