Re: National Health care system
It's a dumb question. Going from recollection, in my last year of work I was paying about $30K a year in federal income tax; and about $500 a month towards my healthcare insurance. So another 5% on my income tax would be $1500 annually; and that means I would be relieved of $6000 insurance payments....

Pudding mit Gabel
Literally 'Pudding with forks' has taken off as a social activity in Germany. Crowds of teenagers meet in public parks at a pre-arranged time to eat - well - puddings (chocolate, vanilla etc) with forks. Driven by social media it seems to be the time worn thing of teenagers setting out to mystify th...

OK three things. There is absolutely no benefit to using nitrogen in your tires. (Except to the dealers who is laughing all the way to the bank.)

Re: Tell me about psi
Two things. Tire pressure gauges are notoriously inaccurate - the only ones I trust for an accurate reading are at tire dealers. They pay a lot for their gauges and they can (or should) calibrate them regularly against a verified source. My local gas station has a pump which costs $2.00 and the firs...

Re: He is turning the White House into a whorehouse
In Germany, Adolf was a common enough name. I don't think there has been a kid named Adolf since about 1946. I think the name Donald will disappear off the books once even his cranially challenged MAGA guys realize what he has done.

MAGA are the stupidest humans on Earth? Not really. Liberals are. Putin Has won the Ukraine war. This is more proof that liberals should not lead countries, at least not in wartime: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/zelensky-s-plan-backfires-100-000-young-ukrainians-leave-the-country/ar-AA1PCeQB...

Re: What's Going On Here?....
What’s going on? This administration has been firing honorable prosecutors from the DOJ en masse for months now, for having the temerity to follow the law and do their jobs. See also agents of the FBI fired for doing their jobs. He’s been doing a lot of shit so it’s hard to keep up, but this one ar...

Return the Presidency to its role of an Executive Branch - they have the experts (doctors and engineers and military folk) who put flesh on what Congress authorize.

I took part in the 'No Kings' demo in St Matthews, a suburb of Louisville - I went to this one because I thought that parking would be impossible downtown where the main demonstration was scheduled. I don't know if others had the same idea - I had expected to be one of perhaps a couple of hundred bu...

Resurrecting this golden oldie
I have given George Santos no thought since January 2023. But his sentence has now been commuted, he has been released from prison, and he no longer has to compensate all those people he defrauded and/or stole money from. He has not been pardoned: he pled guilty. There may be a silver lining to this...

I think that RBG's declining to retire was because she wanted to avoid the appearance of a political act - which retiring to ensure a D president would have been. She also probably thought that Trump would leave nomination of a new Associate Justice to whoever won the 2020 election. After all, they ...

I am pretty sure that Vance is Trump's insurance plan. He won't be impeached, 25thed or assassinated as long as Vance is the result.
