I have not tried confirm it, but Sunday in a zoom discussion of Hitler and the collapse the Weimar republic, the statement was made that in Vanity Fair in 1990 there was an interview with Trump's first wife (as they were in a messy divorce) in which Ivana claimed Donald always cared around a book, s...

Blessings of college radio. This morning I was introduced to 'The Kings of Mongrel Folk' with their wonderful rendering of a Sophocles drama made famous by Siggy Freud and they recreated it as a cowboy shootout ballad. https://mongrelfolk.com/music-ala-mongrel I love the refrain: Oedipus Rex. Oedipu...

If she wins, Trump will have the FBI seize the ballots because she obviously stuffed the boxes (all over the state of Illinois) with votes from invaders from Greenland. Snailgate.

State of the Union address next Tuesday evening. Is this where we will hear that the United States of America is at war with Iran, even though Congress, which is the body (not the 'unitary executive" ) that has the duty of sending the nation to war. Last Tuesday we observed 'Presidents Day' even tho...

Just one more marker on the long road of monetization. I watch: "Live, From New York (on tape) IT'S STEVEN CORBAY !" One of my favorite christmas albums is a collection of traditional music, all produced and generated on an early Apple computer using a program written by the producer and performer n...

My 20 year old grandson introduced me to Drop Kick Murphy about a year ago and I did not find the music very interesting. That is/was an old geezer response. I am gonna have to buy this album. For my grandson, '4 Dead in Ohio' is boring prehistoric. I need to make the effort to bridge the difference...

By the way, the Washington Post today had an interesting little item pointing out that the Official Federal holiday calendar still calls this day George Washington's Birthday. It has never been official changed to 'president day ' and so far Trump has not noticed.

BSG, I have been retired now for about 10 years. I finally turned in my ministerial alliance card last year when I could no longer preach without word, for word written notes. with color hints in the margin. I know I am getting rusty in many ways. But lot of stuff I was exposed to said burn-out come...

"no comparable sign language developed anywhere else on Earth" Sort of an extreme statement. Why not ASL? or the sign language developed in Western Catholic monastaries after vows of total silence became typical in the middle ages in Europe?

I remember a line of dialogue from Al Capp in Li'l Abner newspaper comic strip, describing the MGTD: every part that falls off is Finest British Workmanship. Every time a senior member of the Trump administration speaks in public, it is a finest example of the wisdom and honor and dignity of that Ad...

Thanks for posting MG, good to know you are still around. I heard Ricky Skaggs "Gone Home' on the radio this morning and it tore me up. Maybe just cabin fever from being snowed in for the last week.
