Re: Terrorist Blonde Woman Rams ICE Vehicle!!

Last night I dreamed. . . Perhaps. Joe Hill went on to organize. Very few living today remember the wars fought in the American hills between union mine workers and the mercenaries hired by the coal and copper mine owners. Yet that led to the 40 hour week, paid holidays, medical insurance paid by th...

Mr. liberty, I see no contradictions among the posters in this thread vs what they have posted in the past (including you) Those you identify as hypocritical libs are not writing here of states rights or federal rights. It is a matter of individual human dignity and the expectation that government w...

Re: For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn

Never heard about the connection between measles and epilepsy. Perhaps that's why it seems to me epilepsy was much more common in my childhood than it is now. First aid instruction in Cub Scouts included handling of epileptic fits. I was not in a big grade school, (less than 100 kids in my 8th grade...

A check of Wiki shows nothing about measles and sterility. Thanks for the information on mumps. However, measles DOES cause blindness.

I do remember the punch line of an old joke about two guys in adjoining stalls in a bathroom, seeing only empty cardboard tubes.. The punch line is: Do you have change for a twenty?

It may be my senior senility, but I 'remember' one of the effect of measles among those who do not die is that it can leave the male patient permanently sterile. A prime example of the sins of the parents visited on their sons.

Re: Water Saving Tip

The last time I bought the wood pulp product intended to wipe one's crappy butt, I noticed it was identified on the package in a very large type font "Bath Tissue" I had the wonderful thought experiment of pondering the result of using the stuff after taking a bath. I do remember the California slog...

Re: Murkowski "hopes" Trump isn't really after Greenland

An ally, not an asset. That is an idea that the entire Trump Administration finds incomprehensible. I am sure the good Senator from Main is sending thoughts and prayers. The Senate proudly calls itself a deliberative body. That does not imply any action.

Not just failing to save them, but failure to DO the very job he agreed to take, did the training, and showed up for work that day. He was not just somebody who happened to have a gun and just happened to be in the area. But this is the real modern American community, not a John Wayne or Clint Eastw...

I am sorry, but you are interfering with my freedom. I am free to do my own research and my research has shown that Plato was a dangerous provocateur, and a follower of Socrates, who was executed for conspiring to pollute the innocent minds of young students with dangerous concepts, contrary to trad...

“No family will lose access,” Dr. Oz said. Yes I remember when I had access to a vaccine against lyme Disease. I only had to pay $350 for each of a series of three shots. But I paid it, gladly. Even though latter research indicated it was a lot less than 90% effective--more like 50%. Still I had fri...

And congress is just rolling over belly up and useless. Now I remember just how much The Donald appreciates Putin as a role model. Last nite, before the news rolled in live from Venesuala on the BBC radio, there was a panel of 'experts' from non-USA sources discussing the expected political activity...

The Donald, like many con-men and politicians, depends on short memories of suckers. As Pres Lincoln never said, "You can fool enough of the people enough of the time."

"Excuse me if I am missing something, but what you described sounds like your personal perception." Of course it is. That is all any of us have. Many PhD 's have been awarded for discussions of how we know what we know, most of them self-contradictory. All I have is little energy blips moving around...

TO BB and others, in the late 1960's I ran a gas station in Michigan for several years. I gained the idea that the Detroit designers were in a contest to hide the gas filler. Some put it INSIDE the rear light fixture. The ones behind the license plate just above the middle of the rear bumper were do...

I think this one is dead in the water. It will be a miracle if the design can be completed before the next CinC is sworn in, let alone lay the keel. It makes more sense to design a new electric submarine powered by solar panels.

Between 2012 and 2018 I used rental cars frequently. I could never remember which side the gas filler was on. Most of the time it was the driver's side, but there were exceptions just often enough to be annoying. In that situation, the arrow is helpful. For one's daily driver, not so much. snailgate.

Hard to hide it when the pictures have been out in newspapers back when it was current events. Me, I always understood little Donny took Epstein as his role model in how to improve one's life style with other peoples money.

This has me befuddled. Was the state of Ohio so 'white bread' back then? I never heard of this woman, but I looked here up on Wiki. Seems she was a pioneer and a major force in tv news personalities for the state of Ohio for many decades. Yet she was honestly ignorant of the marginalized? snailgate.

My public library has it in the catalog. I have requested it. We shall see. Amazon quotes the NY Times: The Hippopotamus builds into “a deliciously wicked and amusing little fable”
