Re: The Board Rules

Friends should always welcome friends.

People who are made to be alone are – keep up on the logic here – are alone.

It seems to me that at least one draw card to web forums is to either attract, or create an outcast.

Alas, some things never change.

Good- by again.

Re: Deleted a "user" who had made a post

I can’t for the life of me, see any reason why anyone would have seen this as cause to make a nasty (and clearly, uncalled for) reference to a poster who hadn’t even entered the fray.

Once again, I just don’t get it.

Kindly, do not respond to this post.

Unbelievably sick person still at large

Source This is in the local news. In fact, the road mentioned is just below us. So it is in French, but you can use Google to translate it. It’s so disgusting that it sounds like one of those fake stories that get e-mailed about. Until I can get some more information, all I have is this one link. O...

Re: A good beer and a nice Stilton cheese

"Traditionally the whey from cheese making would have been fed to pigs. We wondered if it could be used for other purposes and Belvoir Brewery has now made a new beer." Now that is the best endorsement I’ve ever heard. Hey! We made a beer out of it because the pigs grew tired of it. Seriously, I th...

Re: breakfast

I think I would prefer to go hungry than to have left over cold pizza for breakfast.

Fresh out of the oven would be ok.

Actually, that would be more than ok. But leftovers are not for breakfast.

Philosophy, on the other hand, is invisible, whether it is coming or going.

I don’t know about Korea and Taiwan, but that jet is pointed right into the same direction that a big sign with a “B” on it is pointing.

You don’t suppose it is coming here do you?

Re: The Turkey of My Discontent

Yet another nice day. Perhaps a harbinger for the new year, or a cruel introduction to January as usual. Yet I have stopped complaining. I even enjoyed lunch in the solarium. On the news we heard about the situation in Queensland. Here we are, half way around the world and their weather is in our ne...

...or due to the powerful harmonics the wind created. It was like pushing a child on a swing, the pushes came at the right time to magnify the effect.

When you watch the footage in it’s final moments, it is obvious that it was well built to last through those contortions.

Intelligent people would look at a lump of cheese that has mould growing on it and have the common sense to throw it out. It doesn’t have to be cheese either. If it has acquired the signs of alien life forms, it has to go. I like cheese. I once purchased a massive wheel of extra old cheddar because ...

Adam Sandler? I have more talent than Adam Sandler. My dogs each have more talent then Adam Sandler. Those stupid squirrels that fall out of the trees to escape my two stupid dogs who have no idea how to predicted the landing position of a falling object, have more talent than Adam Sandler. There ar...

Say oldr, do your German traditions include having goose for new years? Our family did that for many years before I was around. And when I did show up, I do remember the tradition included the advice that if the goose was tough, then so would be the New Year. All of the geese were tough and we stopp...

Re: The Turkey of My Discontent

We have been blessed by a brief respite. Proof that even Mother Nature needs to inhale from time to time. This is what it looks like today. To the unversed viewer, it may just look like another picture taken from a different angle and I must admit that such an opinion would be spot on. But for me it...

Re: The Turkey of My Discontent

It has been snowing all day again. You know that water is the basic substance of life and it pains me to see it frozen and rendered inanimate. It just doesn’t seem right, drifting quietly from the sky like so much confetti from hell. It reminds me a bit of some scene from that movie, “The Day of The...

Re: Home for Random Thoughts

I have an idea for dog food manufacturers. First off, I would like to think that most pet owners are not so feeble minded as to go all ga-ga over some advertisement that depicts some cute little bugger that comes running for Ralph-in-a-Can brand dog food (the dog food dogs ask for by ralphing it up ...

The Turkey of My Discontent

I thought you might like to see the view from here. This is basically what we have had to look out at for almost the whole month of December. Pretty isn’t it? It’s quite the strange month because seeing so much snow caught in the branches of the trees is usually something that you only see for a sho...

In a post on the restaurant's blog he said Ms Virbila "was recognised" while she and her party were waiting for a table.

And if I were in the area, I would gladly accept. I’m accustomed to being surrounded by people who speak a different language, but know how to party. The singing part still seems a distant thing but I know how to mumble along from the years I have had singing the national anthem. Until then, Feliz N...
