Re: All the men getting angry at women for choosing the bear...

Bears find human women far less threatening than human men do, as evinced by the mass killings of human women by human men and the very, very rare incidence of bears killing women.

Re: Guess who is looking to be Trump's VP

I agree that Romney doesn’t want to work with Trump. I honestly think Romney has too much integrity, now that he’s seen all that Trump really is and how he’s changed the party. Romney and his family have faced serious security threats from MAGAts, but luckily he’s as rich as Croesus so he can afford...

Re: SETI

Why should it stop? Science makes no judgments, it simply follows the evidence. Trees in a forest are not individuals, they are a family of linked root systems which transmit information to one another and work together for the health of one another. Is this not a form of intelligence? Problem solvi...

Re: SETI

When I first started studying zoology as a child, and later majoring in it at university for 3 years, I always felt that the 'rules' set forth for animal behavior other than humans seemed off and counterintuitive. The prevailing thinking was that we must not anthropomorphize other animals - and of c...

Wordle 1,055 4/6* ⬛⬛⬛🟨🟨 ⬛🟨⬛🟨⬛ 🟨🟩⬛⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 My streak ended at 580 because I forgot to do it Wednesday. Sincere condolences! I'm on my longest streak now, have had a few others ended by forgetfulness. Last night I almost lost the recent streak because I'd started the puzzle earlier in the day and my ...

Re: God & Country

They certainly scare me. I find their biblical understanding to be limited, false, racist, and in a word reprehensible. Even the notion that God cares more for America than . . . . anywhere else on earth . . . is repugnant. Yes, this. It gives me a sick stomach to think about what a theocratic fasc...

Re: God & Country

I’m still watching the film because I took a break to go to early bird dinner - I’m officially a geezer, I don’t eat past 6:30pm - and, I have to reiterate, it must be seen. It’s chilling to realize how deeply disconnected one America is from the other America. I spent some time in the 80s attending...
