Re: And the award for the best shade throwing goes to...
One of the local funeral homes has a dog "on staff". She has a name badge and is on the website. I've been to funerals at their facility and at my home church. The dog just roams the receiving line allowing for pets to occur. If someone seems especially distraught, I've seen her just stick to that p...

I'm in San Antonio on business (our annual customer conference) and we have time scheduled off for viewing. My company gave out the "special glasses" to all of our attendees. It's overcast and supposed to get worse. So we already don't see the sun.

I am recording secretary for the local volunteer fire company. At our board meeting last week, we were discussing an event that was planned and someone quipped that when they told the ladies auxiliary about it that it "went over like a fart in church". Unable to hold my tongue, I responded, "Yeah, t...

Don't get us started on Heidegger. Fun story (to me). My best friend growing up and I took some classes together when he returned from the army and one of them was a philosophy course. When the teacher started naming famous philosophers, we were both kind of singing it and sure enough, the teacher a...

He didn't say that
He didn't mean it that way - you quoted him out of context
Yes, that's what he said and in that context, but he's done so much for everyone else we can overlook that
So what if he's racist, FJB

Introducing Marble
As you may be aware, we lost my Xena in November of 2022. She was definitely my "heart dog" and cannot be replaced. We did add a new dog to the family in September of 2023, though. He is a Pug/Corgi cross ("porgi" affectionately). A local rescue got his mom (a cardigan corgi) and five puppies. He "c...

I am generally a non-violent person and don't "wish harm" on people. Ben there, though, has one of the most punchable faces I've ever seen. Every time he opens his mouth, it becomes even more punchable.

If you are a collector of old vinyl records, you may find that they get scratchy as they get old and played a lot. Some records, it turns out, can be renovated and rejuvenated by rubbing them with Vicks Vapo-Rub. But, it further turns out, this only works for Baroque classical music, like the music...

Re: So this made me throw up in my mouth
Well, I remember an air rifle made by Crosman back in the 1970s or 1980s that fired BBs or .177 caliber pellets and looked just like the military's M-16 (including sling points on the weapon, along with the 'carry handle' at the top) ... and I personally still own and occasionally fire a Daisy mode...

I would regularly get emails from various "R" accounts - including the official DJT campaign encouraging me to vote by mail. Often on the same day, I'd get an email from other "R" accounts talking about how "they" are trying to steal the election with mail in votes.

I have a small truck (Ford Ranger). Bought it as a fixer upper "needs clutch". It was a rusty hospice case, but I healed him (dubbed Ranger Rick). That Ford Vulcan 3.0 Liter engine is great. All of the power of the four cylinder and the fuel economy of the V8. I do use him for hauling and for respon...

Stay away from the chicken fingers. (Hint: chickens don't have fingers.) Back in the dark ages when I was a waiter, I used to tell kids that ordered chicken fingers, "We are out of chicken fingers, are toes ok?" Usually, they'd get wide eyed and then say, "It's fine". Sometimes a mom would interrup...
