Re: RayThom back in hospital

Damn, Damn, Damn.
RIP RayThom. He helped with my sobriety and I am saddened by his passing. He was a good person.
Thank you RayThom, for your wisdom and for being you.

Re: Farewell to a friend

Gob just sent me an email about the passing of LordJim and I am very very sad to hear of his passing. He was a total "stand up guy". Whether you agreed or disagreed with him, he was always respectful and actually listened to your point of view. And he would point out where you were wrong, but always...

wesw can post whatever he wants here. I don't own the board and I certainly don't own a thread on the board I don't own. Besides, it doesn't bother me in the least, but no "o's" makes it hard to read some times. :o RayThom Life -- you may have little control of the quantity, but you do control its q...

Re: oldr_n_wsr's alcoholic adventure

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and kind words. It does mean a lot. RayThom 38 years (1981) TODAY. Wow!!!!!!. Congratulations on that. My sponsor has 'only' 28 years. I have to live to 94 to reach 38 (provided I stay sober those coming years). ;) I hope you fared better than me. I still ...

Every "next" generation can complain about the previous generation(s). And every previous generation can complain about the "next" generation. :shrug When I moved to my current location back in 1985, there was very little traffic, tracts of land were scrub pines and oaks, roads were mostly one lane ...

Howdy boys and girls of planb. Still oldr_n_wsr, still an alcoholic, still sober and still alive. Thanks for asking wesw. No motorcycle crashes (yes I still ride). Re: What Car Were You First Licensed To Drive?

First car I ever drove was a 64 VW bug, in 1970 when dad took me to a parking lot and taught me the stick shift. Passed my road test (january 1976) in moms 67 plymouth belvedere wagon. Had my license suspended in april for speeding in the bug. 50mph in a 30mph. Was still on probation so they took my...

Re: EGR Vacuum Modulator

A whole thread to cars. Really cool. :ok I bought a new forester in 2014 (2015 model) and change the oil every 6k. It usually needs a quart at the 4k mark. Nice thing about the subaru is it has an oil "low" light (yellow) which actually comes on when the dipstick shows 1 qt low. Thing takes 0w-20 sy...

Re: Where's my flying car?

Using too much detergent in the washer burns out the bearings, especially on front loaders as they spin very very very fast. If you see suds in the window, that's too much detergent. Can't remember how many full rebuilds I did on front loaders. Two man job to pull the tub/basket out of them. They al...

Re: Washing machine...

I worked on a speed queen back when I worked for factory services (aka sears) fixing washers and dryers. Built nice and the one I worked on didn't have the big heavy transmission (top load). It used a computer to vary the drive motor speed/direction/agitation. That one had a broken spring that ties ...

Years ago my pcp didn't like my psa results. Sent me to a urologist who did a biopsi which was negative but went every three months for a while now it's every 6 months. Better to be checked over and over than to have it occur and grow undetected.

Re: Take a look at your power poles

Last summer the power people came by and dug around the bottom of the pole that is right on my property line. They determined replacement ASAP and the usual meaning of ASAP. They replaced it and moved the power wires pretty quickly (about 6 weeks). Now both pole are there, the new one has the power ...

Never heard of it but glad it's fixed and you are getting better dales.
Good thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
It is continually produced by the brain at the rate of 500 mL per day
Half a liter a day?
Where does it all go?
Is that why I have to pee so much?
