Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Perhaps you could spend some time reading that constitution, with particular attention to the 9th and 10th amendments and the matter of standing. The Supremes initiate nothing, not regulation, not social policy, not economic policy. This is a federal court of last resort, for disputes that have been...

And on an aside mentioned a couple of times above, I would not recommend a new Craftsman brand anything. It is not what it was 20 years ago, or even 5 years ago. Most Craftsman tools now are barely guaranteed til you get beyond the door of the store. Sears Holding Company just tries to keep the banke...

Please note. This phone was in the possession of the local sheriff department before the feds got their hands on it. Some hack (hack as a noun once used to mean a lazy worker who performed badly) in that office CHANGED the password on this phone before the FBI got it, and nobody knows what the new p...

Re: RACISM: BLACK LIVES MATTER
Well Ray, I was a bit put off by the editing, wondering if the two others portrayed in the video said anything interesting beyond "I come from planet earth." Can't we all just get along? Well no, because we are humans together on planet earth and we all prefer to find somebody who is US and other so...

Daffodil is rarely in bloom on this side of the pond March first. Only weak, frail things nurtured in a hothouse and an insult to any Welshman.

Once again, I take up the duty of Captain Obvious. Racist? That is anything that deals with racial categories as something useful and significant. So yes, it is 'racist' to be proud of being black, hispanic, white or the older categories of race when I was younger, such as Polack, Mic, Chink, Dago. ...

It has never been clear to me as to the proper way to observe St. David's Day. A leek in my local green grocer is about a foot long and rather heavy. How does one attach this to one's lapel?

A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian Does nobody here READ? To recall part of my recent initiation ordeal to join this motley band, What is the 5th word in the sentence above? Trumps thinks about lots of other stuff, for exam...

Trump in particular, but others as well, just get a free pass on outrageous statements. CNN ran an interesting series of interviews with various candidates this week, with about a half hour for each one. I found this more informative than the so-called 'debates' that have been running. All of them m...

Captain Obvious again. Of course it is Racist to be proud that you are White. If 'white' is a race category, and you are proud to be within that category, then you are racist. Unless you define pride and white and race in some idiosyncratic, rhetoric purposed, manner. Me, I have no pride in being pa...

In each of the states that have been actually polled (Iowa and New Hampshire) and in the upcoming South Carolina and Nevada, Undecided were the largest group going into the poll, and Trump has not come close to winning a majority.

Back in September 19, 1926, H L Mencken wrote in his column for the Chicago Daily Tribune: “No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain pe...

Aha! I fooled them! I am an Eagle Scout and have sung in the choir. For many years I was a little red book carrying member if the International Workers of the World. That clearly puts me in the profile of very dangerous prevert. (And I have been a philatelist and a thespian)
