Re: Taking the cow to the (super) market
See this pisses me off. We used to have controlled milk prices in the UK. Farmers complained that they wanted a free market and to be free of quotas and to sell the milk at the going rate. Now that has happened and the global milk price has dropped they are blaming everyone but themsleves. I dont kn...

Re: 4th Test - Australia kissing their Ashes goodby?
A superb bowling display from the England team. The pitch was turning beautiful for them this morning to make short work of the tail end. Even the hardest of hearts must have felt a little sorry for the Aussie captain Clarke when he choked on the tears as he paid tribute to the boys in his team. Aus...

Great stuff.
Even better that England are 274-4 at stumps and Root is on 124.

Thanks guys.
Hubby is working over in Drogheda this week so I'm having a quiet one with the dawgs.
Best birthday pesent was watching the Auusies get bowled out for 60 runs before lunch in the 4th test.
(I am aware that may be gibberish to some of you )

I'm 46 next month and I have finally had to admit that my eyesight for reading was fucked. So £220 later I succumbed and got my first pair of varifocal glasses. It's a bloody revelation... No more pushing my distance glasses up to be able to read labels or my phone. Thankfully the "hipster" style fr...

Re: Shoot a dentist for sport
Ricky Gervais summed it up beautifully
"It's not for food, it's not for the shooting, or tin cans would do. It must just be the thrill of killing. Mental"
Give me five minutes with this bell-end and a selection of dental implements and I'd teach him a lesson.

N'awwwwwwww! Bless him, he really tried. I'd have another pet ferret tomorrow, but hubby doesn't like them. We always had them when I was growing up, along with multiple dogs, cats, bunnies, budgies and gerbils (though the gerbils staged an escape that didn't end well when our burmese cat got involv...

We've been to see Al Murray twice, he's so quick... He also has a degree from Oxford in Modern History.
He stood against UKIP's Nigel Farage in the recent General election.

Dreadfully Good
Anyone watched Penny Dreadful? I binged the first series in three days just before series two began. This is the sort of TV I love, its gothic, sexy and crazy. The characters are engaging and its absolutely beautiful to watch. Give it a go.. But, a word of advice don't watch it with your kids or you...

I thought they would love it...
Given that the miso and umami paste that I can get in the Japanese Section in Sainsbury have a similar smell and flavour profile, Marmite should slot right into Japanese cuisine.

Black Pudding is one of our gastronomic highlights. Hot Bury Black Pudding on a buttery Declerque Muffin is an absolute delight.
The only thing on the list I haven't tried is Jellied Eels, even in my visits to London I have never seen them for sale.

Have a lovely time Guin.
My favourite time in Paris was taking the funicular up to the Sacre Coeur and visiting the little bars and cafes in Montmatre.

DJJ can probably stay on with Death in Paradise, it's a short filming window. Corrie is on five times a week and is a full time filming schedule (depending on the characters storylines). It's hard for actors to commit to anything else when they are on it.

Hmmm I'm going to wait until my ballot papers come through. Yvette Cooper and Andy Burnham are neck and neck for me with Andy just ahead, he's a passionate guy and as shadow health secretary he's proved to me at least that he puts the needs of people first. I voted for Dave over Ed in the last leade...

I've not visited Holmfirth for a while, it's a pretty little place, shame it's in Yorkshire ;) I live between Shaw and Royton two small towns on the outskirts of Oldham, built on the textile and mining industries. Of course there's none of that any more. The old mills are warehouses and the jobs ten...
