Re: USA!! USA!! USA!!

Well, in any event, I'm glad to see that the US soccer team is doing well...

As a loyal and patriotic American, I always root for my fellow countrymen, no matter how obscure or irrelevant the sport may be....

Anybody happen to know how the US Women's Beach Volleyball Team is doing?

Re: USA!! USA!! USA!!

I'm sorry, I thought the expression "soccer hooligans" was generally applied to the British...

I didn't realize that it could only be fairly applied to the English....

My mistake.... 8-)

Re: IS it wrong to ask what happened to CSB?

But it gets stranger after that, Jim. On page 32 Daisy informs us that the G-Man asked her to abridge the wants, needs and genuine thoughts about what can make the CSB better, from his thread, for him to review. Now don't go FORETELLING HEN!!! I haven't gotten to page 32 yet!!!! But I did come acro...

Re: IS it wrong to ask what happened to CSB?

This, from Gar's remarks on page 22 of that thread: For those three years Gwen had to make descisions that most likely exceeded her original understanding of the scope of her involvment as Admin. Those descisions no doubt had to be made - for better or worse. I can not come in three years latter and...

Bonds prosecutors lose appeal on steroid tests[/size A federal appeals court threw out the prosecution's strongest evidence Friday in its perjury case against home run king Barry Bonds: three positive steroid tests conducted before Bonds told a grand jury he had never knowingly taken performance-en...

Re: To cut poverty, we must cut also welfare

I have said a number of times, that The Welfare Reform Act (which was produced by a Republican Congress, and wisely signed into law by Bill Clinton over the vociferous objections of the left-wing of his party) was the most important, positive piece of social legislation to have been produced in a ge...

Re: IS it wrong to ask what happened to CSB?

Oh come on guys, the pinacle (or nadir) of the levels of insanity reached there, is to be found in Gwen's assertion that Steve's sock puppets are, and I quote; "Steve's satire"! I disagree. I believe that was reached a few months back, when Gwen looked over the totality of Steve's posts and behavio...

I hadn't planned on reading through that whole thread, but I think now that I probably will.... Because so much of it is just so damn funny.....   Particularly Steve's unbelievably deranged, hysterical ramblings (in that thread, he goes so far off into the Twilight Zone that it almos...

Re: One more example of Yankee ingenuity

Well I've heard of "robbing Peter to pay Paul", but this looks more like "robbing Peter to pay.......Peter".... Maybe this isn't as weird as it looks.... I assume the pension fund itself is solvent, and therefore has funds to lend. Because of the current economic situation, the state and localities ...

Re: IS it wrong to ask what happened to CSB?

I did a search over at the CSB, but can't seem to find the post of Quad's you guys are talking about...(maybe somebody could post a link?) I've long been of the opinion that the whole reason Quad got himself involved as an associate member of The Troika was because of his disputes with Joe Guy....th...

I Thought This Was Funny

I just saw an ad on TV for..... The Internet Explorer Browser.... Firefox must really be eating their lunch if Microsoft feels that they have to go so far as to advertise their browser on TV to try to get people to use it.... Personally, I have never used the IE browser except in situations where th...

California's New Primary System

Last Tuesday, voters in The Altered State passed a new political primary system. Under this system, the primaries will become unitary. All candidates for a given state or federal office, (except the Presidency) Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Socialist Workers, will all run in a single primary...

Re: My Party Screws The Pooch On Taking Over The Senate...

The Tea Party influence varies. It was an important factor in the Kentucky race, a little less so in Nevada where the favorite, State Sen. Sue Lowden, also had some Tea Party support, and saw her candidacy go down as a result of a couple of gaffes, and millions of dollars spent by the Reid people in...

He's doing great Tim, getting stronger every day... (though I'm pretty sure I could still take him in a one on one basketball game...of course give him another year and he'll probably be out of my league) As for Martini's I prefer Gin...usually Beefeaters, (that was my father's favorite) though I ca...
