Re: Assange writes.
That really depends on how they were leaked doesn't it? Not at all. However they were leaked, it constitutes a security breach which needs to be addressed. That this was discovered when the topics of discussion happened to in the nature of Berlusconi's womanizing, rather than potential locations fo...

Fine.
Now please explain how those sections make Assange guilty, without necessitating the indictment of the publishers of every news organization in the world that published extracts of those very same "document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch[es], photograph, (etc.etc.)"

Re: Assange writes.
Perhaps diplomats will realize that the world has turned and that they need to do something to strengthen the security over their communications. Germany and Japan lost WWII in part because they communicated using codes which they arrogantly assumed to be unbreakable. Those diplomats whose communica...

If he did it for himself; it's treason. If he did it for Assange, in any fashion, it's espionage. Your words, yes? According to you, it's either treason or espionage. According to the military, it's neither (because he hasn't been charged with either. Therefore, you disagree with the military. QED

Re: Obama smacked in the mouth
Perhaps most countries respecting the rule of law would presume that another law abiding nation would not engage in criminal acts in order to execute its laws?
Just a thought.

Sure, but their intent in that case is obviously to no longer be a couple. Better that their status be settled legally rather than remain in limbo.

Re: Cut price divorces.
The notion that anyone would be "encouraged" to get a divorce because it costs £400 rather than £800 is ridiculous. Would someone get a half-price appendectomy if it wasn't medically necessary, just because it was on sale?

Re: The MOTU at war.
I'll say this for the British aristocracy, during both world wars a LOT of them enlisted in the armed forces for very hazardous duty.
Unlike in a lot of other countries where the upper crust tended to find a way to wear a uniform but keep themselves out of harm's way.

So is this one of those cases where we won't see the typical left/right split? I'm not familiar with the SCOTUS's recent record on interstate commerce cases.

Re: Healthcare merry-go-round
So it seems to me to be a little different case than *ObamaCare. While medicare is happy to take a percentage of your earned money, you are not "forced" nor face a penalty if you do not sign up (you just pay money and get nothing which is a lot of what happens with taxes anyway). ObamaCare is makin...

Re: Healthcare merry-go-round
I don't see how it can be legal for the federal gov't to require the purchase of health insurance (Medicare) for when they are over 65 by paying FICA, and yet illegal for the federal gov't to require the purchase of health insurance for when they are under 65.

Oh, lets not forget her banning people she thought spammers friends of Hen's, yet allowing Steve as many socks as he wanted. And libelling people like Angela Harrison in the process, accusing her of posting from an email address blacklisted as a spam source in order to cover up for deleting her acc...

Depends on what passes for "facts". So much of the reporting seems to have depended practically exclusively on Friends of Amanda or similar sources for its "facts".

But it's always nice to have the "protection" from them in writing though. They may have believed that enumerating a list of rights in a constitutional document might have the effect of obliterating other rights that had developed through common law and were not so enumerated. That was one of the m...

Well, it's free only in the sense that it's part of this set of movie channels or any package that contains it. There is another channel that is part of the most basic cable package that sometimes shows soft porn late nights on weekends - they will show all the body parts but no penetration of any o...

I'm sure a lot of people said the same about Daniel Ellsberg in his day. As I recall, there were extraordinary efforts made to attempt to discredit him as well.

OK, this was way weird even for me (WARNING ADULT CONTENT)
So I'm working away on the computer...the TV is on basically just making noise...it's tuned to a movie channel that runs mainstream stuff during the day (where I had sort of been watching The Pillars of the Earth * in reruns) and switches to porn after midnight... So I'm typing away and notice at so...

Just because something has been arbitrarily deemed "classified" doesn't mean it does not deserve scrutiny.
I'm sure Clinton wishes he had classified the nature of the stains on Monica's blue dress. Wouldn't have automatically made it a matter of national security, would it?
