Re: The Juice has expired

I love Norm. I think he’s one of the most brilliant comics who ever took the stage. I’m keen to rent a month of Netflix so I can see his award winning final work, Norm MacDonald: Nothing Special. It’s Norm without an audience because he didn’t live long enough to film the routine as he’d planned - w...

Re: The Juice has expired

I stumbled on this video of Norm MacDonald's epic trolling of OJ Simpson on SNL's Weekend Update - it's a blast from the past to be sure, and nice to remember Norm who is far more dearly departed from us.

Re: The Juice has expired

This piece about Nicole Brown and domestic violence is heartbreaking and chilling for knowing how nothing has changed in 30 years.

Re: Havana Syndrome

On a related topic, what do people think are the source of the unidentified flying anomalies that US government has finally openly acknowledged? Is is some kind of new technology our rivals have figured out long before us, or are we being visited by highly intelligent beings as they do advance plann...

The Juice has expired

I’m always grateful to see a domestic abuser gone from this world and am just sorry that his battle with cancer was so short compared to the long and awful battles I’ve seen so many good people suffer through. Some years ago I watched the extraordinary 2016 documentary OJ: Made in America, which is ...

Re: An Eclipse.... woop dee doo!

Interesting coincidence, I was just reading an article last night about an American woman who was killed in Malaga during drug-fueled ‘extreme sex’; her American husband is being charged under Spain’s gender violence laws. Of more relevant interest to you, Sue, would be the 8 years long ongoing drou...

Re: An Eclipse.... woop dee doo!

How about a visit to Spain in 2026? As a bonus you’d get a terrific view of the perseid meteor showers the next day.

Re: Cigarette, Anyone?

I gotta disagree, BigRR. I don't see smokers as less than human, spent most of my life hanging out with smokers until just the last decade. I know from the experiences of family members and friends that some people who smoke get very addicted and even if they wanted to quit they struggle badly and o...

Re: 2024 Presidential polls and projections

After 2016 I don't put much stock in polling.

I'm counting on reason and sanity to prevail in November, but I have a very ambitious fitness regimen ongoing so that I will be prepared to hike across the border into Canada a year from now.

Re: An Eclipse.... woop dee doo!

I’m having a little sadness that I don’t get to see totality, but I didn’t feel like driving for a day to get to northern Maine and more importantly, dealing with the crowds and traffic. Watching the coverage on TV now makes me glad I decided not to go- the older I get the less I can stand large gat...

Re: Arise citizens!

Not the same "French Revolution" but my kids had the 25th anniversary Les Miserables concert on last night. When I mentioned that today was Bastille Day, I got the opportunity to both give a history lesson and lament the state of public education in my country. Vive la révolution Reading back throu...

Re: Arise citizens!

There has been an ongoing debate over the 2012 film production of Les Miserables. Tom Hooper obviously wanted to emphasize the grit of the story and he got some truly excellent performances out of the actors he cast, some of whom were clearly cast more for acting ability than singing chops. Neverthe...

Re: Cigarette, Anyone?

Knowing what we've learned about cigarettes and the tobacco industry, I don't understand why anyone would choose to smoke nowadays. Young people have done stupid things since the beginning of time. Very, very few people start smoking later in life - it's almost always a habit picked up in youth, an...
