Re: Fortress America

Zero Population Growth (ZPG) was the buzzword in the 1970's. That's when the population of the United States was around 200million. We should've capped it there, instead we over 300million and a lower standard of living. If the US keeps going at this rate, we can have 400+million in 20 years and a s...

Re: Why American cars are crap!

Jeremy did have more hair, didn't he.

For the record, I believed he liked the Ford GT 8-)

While driving the latest Corvette , he liked the power and handling but the build quality was crap.

I dunno about any other "Detroit Iron" he's driven.

Re: Going solar is paying off!

I have to go with rubato on this one. Here in the BA we have so-called "spare the air days" which means NO burning of anything is allowed. The air quickly fills up with smoke during the stagnant winter air days. When I lived in Santa Clara County this was a real problem. People would burn wood on wi...

Re: Korea, has the ship hit the fan?

Why risk US lives?

The ROK is perfectly able to launch any retaliatory action needed against the North.

During our involvement in VietNam....the VC was scared sh-tless of the ROK soldiers.

The ROK troops took no prisoners and their interogation methods made ours look like a walk in the park.

Second, and more important, California's Basic Speed Law....So if under the particular circumstances, the only safe thing to do is to exceed the posted speed limit, California law not only permits but requires a driver to exceed the posted speed limit. There is no place in the CVC that states that ...

Re: Do you obey the law because it is the law....or

I've broken many motor vehicle laws. One in particular: In CA one must NEVER exceed the posted limit or the prima facie speed limit (road and weather conditions) limit when overtaking. I like to overtake quickly as to not hold up others or staying in another's blind spot. If drivers do that to me I ...
