Robin Hood mob mentality? Of course the student and instructor pilot were probably not that well off. Instructors are often young pilots trying a get enough flight hours to advance to the next step of their license. I don't know how SA is set up, but in the USA the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) ...

A Piper Cherokee 180 like that was the first plane I soloed. It rented for $12.50 an hour in 1969, fuel and instructor included. When we practiced emergency landing procedures, we didn't actually LAND the plane...

I have a question about this abortion ruling. If the states can decide whether or not to allow abortion, shouldn't it be determined by popular vote of the citizens of each state? We're going to find out in Kansas on August 2nd. An earlier state supreme court ruling said that the state constitution ...

I had a telemarketer a while back tell me he was in Honduras. He may not have been a scammer, but probably was. His Indian accent belied him, so I asked "En que cuidad esta"? (What city are you in?) CLICK That high school Spanish sure comes in handy once in a while.

I’m also the person who refuses to join stupid member plans at gas stations who give a ten cent per gallon discount in exchange for your personal info which they then use to inundate you will advertising BS. My stupid member plan has saved me 25¢ per gallon on 410.32 gallons of gas since a new stat...

What is the definition of ATTEMPTED murder?
Maybe he had murder in mind, but did he really try if he just got out of his taxi near Kavanaugh's house with weapons? Now if he'd sat down to share a beer with him, and pulled a gun, that seems to me it would be an attempt. So did he, or did he not make an attempt? Just curious. https://www.nytimes...

By mentioning KS constitutional carry interpretation of the law, I am not saying that I agree with it. I don't. When Mrs Mc and I got our carry permits several years ago, we had to shoot at targets at a local range to prove that, well I guess it was to prove we might not hit a bystander. There was a...

The first school shooting I recall was jus: t west of Wichita in 1985. Here is an article about it 30 years later: https://www.kansas.com/news/local/crime/article8073096.html It did no good as far as gun control is concerned. In fact any idiot can carry a gun in KS, open or concealed, with no traini...

Re: Who is behind "American Technology"?
I've not participated in ANY telephone, mail, or online polls (with the exception of a few right here) in over 40 years. My reason is, a co-worker agreed to do a telephone "poll" to ask questions of a young lady whom I was interested in dating. She found out things that usually don't come up until t...

OK, I'll play. If you like lighter than air aircraft, PBS recently aired a show about the Hindenburg, which was an aluminum framed dirigeable / Zeppelin, not a blimp. It presents new evidence. I'm sure it's still available if you are a contributing member. It looks like it might be otherwise. Here's...

About that leak... I know I have mentioned my nephew who works for the New York Times. Re: Smokers
Remember this TV commercial? No, but I remember a lady with a permanent trach and an electronic voice box who asked if she could talk to our son about smoking. He was nine or ten. It disturbed him to the point that he was still talking about it weeks later. I guess it worked. I had a guy who worked...
