IMNSHO, people who use the English language to aks questions like: " people or just a myth?" have a very limited understanding of language and communication skills.
An association of ideas become a myth BECAUSE it is a tool for sharing a reality that is important to that society.

I revise my post up above about the four hour 42 minute delay in responding to the invasion. I now think those jewish villages were bait for the Zionists must be Destroyed! crowd. The more than 4 hour delay was to give the fish plenty of time to swallow the bait. Yesterday evening I hear an IDF spok...

the incredible non-shrinking coffee can
75 years ago the one pound coffee can and the one quart mason jar were versatile and ubiquitous storage containers. The can had an air-tight lid and the jar let you see what was inside. Small parts, screws, bolts, nails all kinds of stuff accumulated in taking things apart for other uses or repair. ...

That picture just above, Is he holding a two iron? I am not a golfer, but I have been told that if a golfer is caught out on the fairway in a lightening storm, one should hold up a Two Iron, because not even God can hit a two iron.

I have a nearly instinctive belief that anyone selling bibles is a crook. There seems to be an aroma of exploitation that always goes with them.
Completely in contrast to my default reaction toward anyone operating a book store.

No, lack of evidence on the part of the prosecution is a defense. Personally, I think she was probably voting Republican. There have been 'many, many' instances of established voter fraud, nearly all of them by Republicans.

Sue you I resent that. I live in a 3-story apt bldg. Last fall the landlord replaced the roof. I am pretty sure the job was done by illegal aliens. I have worked on a roofing crew in Nebraska. I know what the job is like. This outfit most assuredly did not follow the OSHA rules. I could hear them ta...

This morning on the radio I heard competing engineers. On the Philly NPR staton I heard an interview with an engineer from the local port authority. He said the bridges in Philly did not have a similar hazard because the river bottom was carefully shaped with rocks and other barriers to cause the sh...

I have driven that bridge, usually when I was coming or going to BWI airport. It looks big. But that 'boat' with pieces of the bridge wrapped around makes the bridge look tiny. Latest news item I have seen says the container ship issued a 'mayday' call before the crash. That reminds me how old I am....

'Always blame the white guy.' Maybe. There are more white than black guys in this country (using the general conversational definition for both in lower middle class mid-Western culture--the one I am most familiar with) But the strange thing is that in spite of the general numbers, there are more bl...
