Re: I don't know for sure if I ever saw an MGTA until last week
Econoline, thanks for the link. That MGTA appears to be restored as one would have been built for racing back when the TA was nearly new, not that they weren't raced bone stock in their day. Nice, expensive, restomod job. Since mine still has four nice original fenders, I'd not do that with it, even...

Re: Faint praise . . .
Maybe it's time for the return of debtors prison. The closest thing I'm aware of is an idiot I know of who has been jailed repeatedly for not paying court ordered child support for at least four kids with three women. He recently announced that he wants to undergo a sex change. I guess that would k...

The nation has been watching Kansas' abortion vote
The ballot issue was actually for a state constitutional amendment which would have allowed state legislators to change laws on abortion. The state supreme court ruled that the constitution allowed abortion in 2019. The changes would have, in all probability, outlawed abortion in almost all cases. T...

My guess is that the woman he killed didn't enjoy being killed either.

Snailgate, Your brakeless Focus was probably made before the 2010 model year when the dual clutch automatic came out. The company has settled several lawsuits, replaced transmissions, and bought back hundreds of Focus and Fiesta cars made from 2011 to 2016.

Re: We will soon see Vietnamese electric cars in the USA
My last Ford was made in Mexico, my current Toyota was made in Canada. snailgate Are you saying that was your VERY LAST Ford. If it was a Focus, with their dual clutch automatic transmission, I understand. Ford has been sued for that fiasco. My Yugo was a better car. I've never understood how "Amer...

Just what we need. Cars manufactured in Vietnam using child labor. No matter what, I intend to continue to drive gas powered American cars like the Toyota and Honda.... There are cars sold here now built in Thailand. And China too: https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/cars-made-in-china Note that th...

Re: We will soon see Vietnamese electric cars in the USA
Smat Car? I wanted a SMALL car for city driving, to replace a Ford Escort. Two seater was big snuff. The SMART checked that box just fine. However it had the reliability of a Yugo and the handling of a Reliant Robin. It was made by Mercedes and priced like one, but it shared no other characteristic...

I've not read Thomas Frank's book. The original by that title was written my William Allen White in the 1890s. Some things never change.

We need a massive purge of all the white supremacists and murderous bullies on our police forces. I suspect we’ll lose at least half the corps. I suspect we'd lose a lot more than half. Question #1 on the application to be a cop: Are you an asshole? Question #2 if #1 is answered NO: Can you learn? ...
