Re: Cover Sheet for Fast Food Employment App.
Reaper, you are such an idiot. And you have nothing of value to add if you're just going to insult people for disagreeing with you. Gas prices keep going up, people are very slowly working on alternatives, but the oil companies have proven time and again that they can keep prices rising every year....

Some more details about the 8 y/o have been released.
I've read that the other two fatalities were women, but nothing more than that yet.
I've also read that the Saudi national was investigated and found to have nothing to do with the attack. Hopefully they do find the people responsible for this.

When you artifically raise the price of something beyond its economic value, the consumers use less of it, the seek alternatives to meet their needs, and they look for black market opportunities Gas prices keep going up. Phone companies keep finding new ways to bend people over. Banks keep finding ...

And why the hell do we still have troops in germany ferchrisakes? Places like Landstuhl are the nearest hospitals that military troops in Iraq or Afghanistan can be flown to for emergency medical treatment. And we've been scaling back in Germany, a lot of bases have already been closed, with 16 mor...

I was stationed over there back in '02 and really hoping nothing happens. The US forces there are basically a speed bump to ensure American support if North Korea tries anything.MajGenl.Meade wrote:My son is up at the border (DMZ) guarding demoncracy so I sure hope it all just blows over

In the minds of most Libs, these women were "oppressed," because of the low wages and lack of benefits. More strawman nonsense. But if we raised their pay and made them full time Why not just increase their pay? You sound like the only option was to increase pay and make them full time. They all ha...

Re: Socialist Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher Dies
As contrasted with this country, where such initiatives are blatantly unconstitutional, and thus run into at least the pretense of opposition when they are proposed, funded, and expanded beyond all rational justification. Despite never being able to show how they're unconstitutional, just a bunch o...

There is a virtual cornucopia of agencies at various levels of government to whom any picked-on student can turn, not to mention the various court systems. Yes, a virtual cornucopia of agencies, that currently don't handle all the cases that would suddenly land on their doorstep if the college faci...

Apparently since it was part of the spending bill, this rider will expire in six months. So it's not a permanent 'get out of jail free' card for Monsanto, but it's still annoying how people can drop random garbage into larger bills. Especially since there doesn't seem to be anything that can stop th...

Re: Are you glad that Genetically modified seeds are Protect
Seems to me that if this were true, the market would eliminate the viability of the product.... But only after it gets discovered, and then people are out of luck since Monsanto can't be held responsible now. I'm also concerned about a rider like this being able to be introduced anonymously, as if ...

Re: Another Obama Fustercluck
In order to get a handle on the 'contractor fudge factor' I added to top two sales numbers and then the next two and looked at the ratio between them. for the totals to equal 1 out of 3 trucks would have to be sold to contractors. Is this number plausible? In Calif. it might be but not in Oregon or...

Re: Real Economists on Raising the Minimum Wage
If they work off the books (as many here in Farmingville Long Island NY do) they do not pay income taxes. Sales tax yes, income tax no. Property tax, I guess they contribute as part of their rent. That's still different from saying "they don't pay no taxes anyway". And the IRS estimates that about ...

(1) A U.S. Senator's views on "gay marriage" are about as important as his views on real estate law. Interesting, perhaps, but utterly meaningless as pertains to his elective office. The views that will shape the laws a person will attempt to pass, or vote against, while in office are kind of relev...
