You were going to post more Bear pictures.........

Well if y'all were on Facebook you'd know.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

oldr, I'm kind of surprised that you actually found out about the internet... :P

Don't you have some rails to split, or a barn to raise?

I've known about the internet for a long time. I think I first went on in 1982 or 83 back when these types of things (forums) were "bulletin boards".
How else do you think I found out about the barn raisings?

I'm sorry, things have been very hectic and I just haven't had time - have to upload photos to Photobucket before sharing here, it's a real PITA. I'm at work and can't recall my password for that website, so I'm just going to share some linked from my FB page, hopefully that works.

Here's a little video I shot of her the other day, shows how good all her legs are working:

Here's a shot of her with my niece:

I haven't really taken many recently, as we aren't at the golf course anymore and I'm working in an office with Bear home snoozing all day, the lazy bugger. We are going somewhere tomorrow though, as the weather is going to be brilliant. Gooseberry Island, I think, with the little girl. So I should have some good all-body shots to share then.

And after much ridiculousness getting my settlement FINALLY transmitted to my bank account, funds should be here early next week and I will have repayments ready to go in the mail or by PayPal, depending on the preference donors stated.

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN, SO VERY MUCH! Little Bear is SUCH a sweet dog, she really deserved to be alive and I'm grateful for every dollar that was contributed to help her get the treatment she needed when she needed it and I didn't have dinero in the bank. Will have a savings account again going forward, and hopefully she's done breaking things, anyway! :D (knock wood)

BSG, the picture of Little Bear with your niece is really cute (your niece looks adorable; she obviously has a lot of personality... :) )

She DOES have a terrific, funny, sweet, annoying, wonderful personality; I call her 'Sarah' after Sarah Bernhardt, as I was called by adults when I was a child too (yes, I've always been a little bit dramatic, surprise?). Turns out her Ganny who passed away in February used to call her that, too, so it's a continuity thing for her, without me even planning it.

I think I mentioned before that I'm living with my cousins now, in the downstairs in-law where my aunt lived before she passed away. I'm really happy there, it's nice to be part of a family after many years being on my own with just my pups/kitties for company. I still have some privacy, but there is also lots of noise and interruption, which is actually a very nice thing after so much quiet.

My niece spends the night with me now and then and it's a really big deal to her when she does; realizing what a special person I am in her life is a hugely positive thing for me in my life, having not been blessed with kids of my own. Once we get the downstairs finished - we are going through my aunt's stuff and also repainting - there will be a play area for her down there, as well as a family room area where we can watch movies together, etc.

I thought at first I would just stay until I got my feet under me, but my cousin wants me to stay forever and I think I might just do that - so long as the kid doesn't become a monster when she hits her teens, lol. Bear is very happy where we are, too - there is a huge yard with deer and rabbit and neighbor cat activity to smell every day and she loves the little girl very much.

she may not become a monster, but she will emphasize the character/personality trait you listed as fourth in your description of her; it's pretty unavoidable. But this too will pass.

BSG may not be subjected to that character trait as she will be considered the "understanding" aunt from the nieces point of view. :ok

Sometimes, but I'm also more inclined to discipline her than her mother is, which her mother is happy about because she doesn't listen to her mom all the time, but she seems to take discipline from me very much to heart - probably because I'm the special auntie who used to send her stuff from Montana and who now takes her on cool adventures.

I think as she gets older we will continue to have a special closeness, as I did with my other nieces and with a few of my own aunties when I was young, as much as I was able to see them after my father moved us far away from all our extended family so he could torture us in peace (only partly kidding about that).

I do expect her to be annoying as a teenager, as we all are. She's funny and clever and very imaginative and has a quirky nerdiness that she gets from her parents, who like me, are very cool nerds - sci-fi/fantasy readers/watchers, trivia buffs, etc. - so I think she will continue to grow into a cool human.

She is also insanely spoiled, because she was wanted for 14 years before she finally came along, and by then all her cousins were young adults, so she's had grandparents, aunts/uncles, AND cousins all spoiling her with love and stuff. Since I'm broke I take her to do things instead of giving her stuff, which I can't afford and she doesn't need anyway, as she's drowning in clothes and toys. She seems to be okay with that, and I keep telling her mom to take it down a few notches because the stuff she'll want as she gets older will be MUCH more expensive than the stuff she wants now, and my cousins are definitely lower-middle-class, living paycheck to paycheck like most working stiffs.

Cute pic with Sarah and sounds like a good situation for the four-legged and the two-legged critters.
