Just saw this Gob; it's never easy to lose your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you as well, and I wish your mom a peaceful journey into what's yet to come.

No prayers, but my thoughts and sympathy are with you. May peace be with both your mother and you.

Mothers new vocabulary.

"Sorry Mam, I forgot to pick you up new nail scissors in town, i'll get some tomorrow."

"Oh you're Fucking useless you are!

She's going to outlive me at this rate, unless I strangle her first.

Only moms can get away with saying that.

It sounds to me like she's just railing against fate. Please don't think any less of her. She's still your mum.

I'd never think less of her. I think her immanent passing has freed her from the need to conform to the expectations of others, and she's enjoying the freedom.

Mam died last night, peacefully in her sleep.

All quiet on the western front now.

My sister Louise has gone home, and I've the place to myself. I've stocked up on grub, and I still have a stock of booze, so its a day in front of the idiot box, watching Dave.

I suppose I should go to the gym, but I'm knacked after being up since 2.00 am. I may take a stroll down the beach later, wish I'd brought my bloody camera now.

This day to myself is just what I need right now, chance to chill and reflect. Just went through some of my dads cricket and soccer mementos, may pass them into his old clubs.

It's only been about fourteen months since my mom passed, so believe me — I feel for you and know exactly what you're going through.  Definitely; take some time for yourself, your thoughts, your memories, and possibly your God, and if anyone can't or won't understand why you need this time, tell 'em to bugger off.

And I speak from experience when I say that when it comes to disposing of things, don't make any hasty decisions.

I'm so sorry Gob, my condolences to you and your family. I lost my Dad last year, and it still stinks. I suspect it always will. Be good to yourself.

I too am saddened by your loss, but I'm glad that you got to be there, for both of you.

Although my mother's passing was coming at some point, when it happened, it was sudden. I shall always regret not being able to make the six hour drive. My sister who lived ten minutes away from her missed it too.

Take care of yourself now.

Gob, I get a sense that you and your mum did quite a bit of head butting along the way. I hope you came to terms with it all during your final visit together. You have my condolences. Peace.

Sorry Gob. Now you can take time to talk with other members of your family.

Please do talk.
