My deepest heartfelt thanks everyone! Home now, and very grateful to be here. On crutches, in a sling, an on some quite tasty painkillers :)

I'll be off work for a couple of weeks, but may get a new road rocket out of it!

Using Hen's I-pad left-handed is a chore, and there'll be no "relaxing in a gentleman's way" for a while ;)

I was going to suggest to Hen that she pick you up some decent porn to keep you occupied while she was at work, but I guess there wouldn't be much point then. :nana

Of course, through all of this Hen has been an absolute brick, I,d be totally and utterly lost and helpless without her. She's not been away from my side, except to go in work at 2.00 in the fucking morning so as to ensure her minister and department got their normal service, while alowing her to spend more time with me! Fuck me, that,s what you call dedication!!

Cheers baby. But I was hoping you hadn't noticed.

I guess I am getting a bit too old for the silent sacrifices these days.

Fuck I love you, and fuck I am glad you got off this easily.

By "switch" do you mean you liked your home team for a while?

My former aussie beau was hit by a car while on his bike (bicycle, not motorcycle) and ended up with permanent wrist impairment which interfered with some necessary professional skills (seriously, get your minds out of the gutter  ). He ended up with about a 100K settlement out of it, so perhaps retirement is closer than you think!

Glad you're on the mend.

thanks again to all! Sean and SMF arrive in a while, they didn't know they would be self catering :D

T the diagnosis is tongue fracture of my R shoulder, dislocation of same, hairline fracture of mr R hip turned out to be an " artifact" on the x- ray, badly damaged R hip capsule, left knee needs an MRI scan to diagnose damage, I ' m having that done on Thurs. The treatment and care I got at on my overnight stay in the local hospital was first class. The only problem was that the ward my bed was in was right next to the "mental health assessment unit" so all the guys and gals came to see me and take the piss!

no out of pocket expenses yet, and as I was on work business at the time I'm going for "workers compensation".

We're on the highway to Canberra now (I haven't heard of any law against posting whilst driving) so you've got about three hours to make a full recovery! :p

LoL :D

No chance of ANY recovery until, I've had a good fortnight off, workers comp has paid out, and his insurers have bought me a new bike!

My lovely manager has converted the time off I took for your stay into "personal leave" so I don't lose the holiday days. Which is nice.

But I'm sure you're going to love seeing 'Berra with Hen and Hatch, and It'll be great just for me to spend time with you at home. I'm sure I'll be up for a hobble about in the next couple of days!

Damn Gob look where you're going next time. J/K I know all too well (and I'm sure Timster does too) how drivers never see us. Well maybe it's because they don't see period. Almost all bike accidents I hear/read about are people turning in front of the motorcyclist and the number one thing they say afterward is "I didn't see him".

Anyway, get all mended up and well again. The "hip capsule" needs to be taken care of. I have seen people end up needing new hips from things like that as the blood flow either gets restricted or shut off entirely to the hip which causes the hip joint to "die".

Glad you're alive mate but damn get well soon.

Thanks mate! I was not seen by this driver, despite having headlights on (my headlights are on all the time, set up that way,) and despite the fact I was wearing a highly reflective ambulance paramedic's bright yellow jacket!

Not actually me modelling the jacket.

Big D, Dilaudid aka hydromorphone.

Much better pain control than morphine with lower side effects and lower doses.

Check "Drug Facts" 1.3mg of Dilaudid is as good as 10mg of morphine.

I am so glad you are going to be ok partner. You are a good mate and I would hate for something bad to happen to you, so be careful. I quit riding my motorcycle when I was forty years old; it is just too dangerous. Hell on a motor cycle you can killed by a grease spot in the road.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.
