At the risk of yelling Beetlejuice...Where's Quad?

All things related to the general running of the forum - got a suggestion? Here's where it should go.

It was definitely on the Car Talk Cafe Dartre that Harry posted; he often used the same modus operandi as quaddriver when asked to backup some bullshit opinion he posted: ("look it up yourself""don't you know how to use the internet?""I'm not gonna do your homework for you" etc. IIRC, he was a small town cop somewhere in downstate (central or southern) Illinois. (To a Chicagoan, the rest of the state outside the Chicago metro area is referred to as "downstate.") I sometimes wondered if I would have an inadvertant FtF with him on I-55 somewhere between Chicago and St. Louis. Knowing how much he loved his guns, I hoped not. ;)

He certainly wasn't on the CSB.

Are you guys sure that he wasn't a Quadsock?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Sometimes it was difficult at the time to tell whether Harry was a quadsock or quad was a Harrysock, but if you were to believe quad, Harry eventually showed up at my front door and told me to be nice to quad or I'd be arrested.

I have to confess, I have absolutely no recollection of "Harry" at all...

I don't recall the handle from the Cafe Darte or the CSB...

When Quad started sputtering about "Harry' a couple of weeks ago, I had absolutely no idea what he was on about...
I remember Harry, and I vaguely remember the story. I want to say Harry was from the Richmond area...?

He posted on Dartre, maybe one of the early incarnations of the CSB.

I have no knowledge of Harry whatsoever.

I do not believe he ever posted at any CSB incarnation.
Bah!

The Congressional Budget Office says today that federal workers are paid more than their private sector counterparts, mostly in benefits. One caveat: that applies to workers without a Ph.D. Highly educated workers in the federal government earn less than doctorates in the private sector.

I don't believe quad holds a Ph.D. :nana

I don't remember Harry at all -- from the Cafe Dartre, or the CSB. I figured he had appeared at the CSB during my hiatus in the early 2000s.

Joe, based on the thread you printed, can you figure out which board it was was on the other names posting, or the dates? When was it?

So of the Cafe refugees left, there is Jim, Andrew, Sue, Kristina, Quad, Joe, Econoline and myself? Dales, were you at the Cafe too?

I still keep in touch with a bunch of the others, via Facebook or Smitty's place (which is still up and running, but the group gets smaller and older and more grumpy as the years go by).

Dales was at the Cafe under a different handle. Jeez, that was a lifetime ago.

I was also at Dartre, though not "Jarlaxle" at the time.

Bite your tongue, Dale....

I doubt that at this point minstrel boy could even find this place, if he wanted too...

I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely to me that anyone still here would be keeping in touch with him, and with CSB Classic down, he wouldn't even be able to find this board's name....

Of course, I'm sure Steve would be happy to direct him....
