For an act off sheer desperation, it's not turned out too badly.

If there had been a way to turn the CSB into what we have here, I'd have grabbed it wiith both hands, as would most of us I assume.

But the troll trio have had their way, and I will not post at the new CSB as the trolls are already dominating the pace, it does not attract me in any way.

Steve Edi and Gwen should, by all means, be enjoying the current incarnation of the CSB, teething problems aside.

I do not get that impression though. Despite Jim and other's attempts to provide a contrary viewpoint for debate, the trolls still seem to have nothing but misery in their activities there.

It would be cruel to laugh.

Did you read the post over at CSB 1 that dimquad wrote about wanting to help Gar "preserve the data" at CSB?
I followed yer link and didn't quite understand what was being talked about.

I did a quick check, it seems he did the same test thing there, CSB1, that he did here.

Does that mean he is helping archive here too?

Just curious...

The first sentence that quad babbled didn't make any sense - He wrote -- "I do not post to convince anyone here. I do not post to convince anyone at p-b. I do not post at .net cuz lets face it, their posts hilight the type and quality people they are and hence stand on their own. I only post to preserve what they say and how they act, in a way that exposes them (note that they back up none of their assertions and refute none of mine - its all I need)"

But then he said that if Gar had a problem preserving the CSB, he would help him do it.

Then he made this comment - "Now watch em go apeshit" - that implied that most of us would be upset and complain if the CSB was archived and accessible to everyone.

I have no idea what quad is doing. All I know is that he is writing senseless posts and contradicting himself.

It is either a hoax, and he thinks he is being extremely clever and intelligent. Or he truly is having a melt-down.

In which case I hope he takes my advice and seeks professional help.

It is not a sign of weakness to take care of yourself with the help of others, Quad.

My money is on the meltdown.

The other choices aren't realistic.

I can understand, given the enormity of the stupidity involved here , that one might think it a hoax....

I raised that possibility two months ago, before this most recent collapse:
It's gotten to the point Quad, that I really do have to ask....sincerely...

Are you really this stupid, or is it an act?

I suspect that you probably are really as stupid as you appear to be, because while someone could certainly put on an act of pretending to be that stupid for a time, it's highly unlikely they would go to the trouble of writing so many long and detailed posts demonstrating that level of stupidity...

You're either a brilliant and gifted satirist,

Or dumb as a box of lug wrenches...

Frankly, my money's on the latter....
http://www.cybersoapbox.com/SMF/index.p ... #msg541439

Given the totality of the evidence, I remain convinced that the "dumb as a box of lug wrenches" explanation remains the most likely.....

I ain't puttin' a whole lot of money on the "brilliant and gifted satirist" theory....

It appears that I also can't post on the new CSB when logged in from Google Chrome on my home computer. I'm not sure why I'm having these technical difficulties.

But, having just spent almost an hour reading the forums there (and trying to navigate them in the process), I am confident in saying I'm not missing anything.

Good on you who are trying to help Gar make a go of it. If it ever turns into anything other than Steve's paranoid playground, please let me know and I will try to contact Gar to resolve my technical issues.

I sincerely hope once CSB II gets past its initial teething problems (and in some way attracts more members) things should markedly improve.

For now the main problem I see is one poster taking up about 66% of the available bandwidth with incessant cut-n-pastes focusing on the same old crap.

The place needs new ideas and posters where or when that will occur is anyone's guess.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I don't like the drop down "thingies" when you move your arrow around (not even clicking). They seem to come down way too fast compared to other sites.

The latter precludes the former.

I am totally not going back there (unless I get PM from someone sent there). There was one thread I was reading and a whole bunch of words got cut off at the right side. Some suggested it was the pictures in teh thread, but it's painful. The whole site is painful to navigate, it's painful to look at, every threads font seems to be different. Too much "crapola". This place (PlanB) just worked. Sure there were minor tweaks, but they were/are resolved rather quickly and were not disruptive.

I'm done at reboot until further notice.

The depth of delusion is to laugh at.

Comparing whatever "issues" he has with the process of establishing Reboot to ENRON  :loon

Watching his auto destruct sequence in action is the most entertaining feature of Reboot.

It's more sad than anything. He's pretty much completely off the tracks at this point and the only people that actually had his ear encouraged him in his delusion.

(though I admit I get a kick out of the fact that editec can't even follow him anymore)
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Steve is going apoplectic because Gar is considering the idea of shelving the current cumbersome, unwieldy and buggy forum portion of Reboot in favor of simply incoporating the original CSB forum into the new site.

This would be an excellent move on Gar's part for a whole bunch of reasons, (it would eliminate the headache of trying to make the new forum more user friendly, and immediately install an easy to use forum set up in its place, to name just two) but it's driven Steve to even greater depths of self-destructive irrationality because it would jettison into the internet ether all of the tedious copy and paste blather that Steve has been dumping into his new forum at a frantic pace for the past few months ....

Which is of course another one of the benefits Gar would derive by making this move, in terms of making the site more attractive to a wider range of participants.
the only people that actually had his ear encouraged him in his delusion.
That to me has always been one of the saddest and most pernicious aspects of Steve's descent into mental illness, but to be fair it's not entirely their fault, since they themselves obviously ain't wrapped too tight.....

I get the impression that Steve is itching to get banned from there, so's he can play the victim; "poor old me, banned for being a beacon of the truth!"

That is definitely a possibility, but I don't think Gar will oblige him....

I would say though that if Gar does supplant the current new CSB forum with the old CSB forum that there's at least a 50-50 chance that Steve will storm off in a snit....

Feeling "betrayed" that all the crap great wisdom and insight he has brought to Reboot had been so callously tossed....Afterall, Steve has been struggling heroically to try and make Gar's site a success with all the "enlightenment" he has showered upon his forum....the least Gar can do is show a little gratitude for Steve's kindness and consideration by doing what Steve tells him to do, and running his site in a way that will most please him.

I hope Steve finds somewhere to post that will accept his 'style' and 'conceptual thoughts'.

ed already posts copiously elsewhere.
