or "are"?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

My kind of BS!!!!!TPFKA@W wrote:Beer Sponge wrote:There's not enough BS in this thread.
If I had more time, there would be plenty of BS around here.
It depends on what kind of BS you mean I suppose.

Personally, I don’t believe in bros before hoes, or hoes before bros. There needs to be a balance. A homie-hoe-stasis, if you will.
Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
I know what the very last word in this thread will be no matter who posts last...
It's the very last word in every thread...
"Quote"....
It's the very last word in every thread...
"Quote"....

Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
Well if you're going to be picky Jim then the very last word will be 'group'.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
Ah, but that word does not actually appear in the thread...the word "Quote" does...
"Group" appears beneath the thread, at the bottom of the page....

Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
Okay then... The last word on the page which is a definite part of the thread would be 'Page'!

Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
I just realized that Jim's avatar is saying, "Pull my finger!"
Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
actually I'm pretty sure it's:
</html>
</html>
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Bilge! The last word must be "of"Sean wrote:Okay then... The last word on the page which is a definite part of the thread would be 'Page'!
(Although a strong case can be made that the last 'word' is in fact a number - try reading 23 without thinking 'twenty three'. We are utterly unable to read in numerics - we must use words. And 'visualising' does not count as reading and one must read in order to recognise a 'word')
And that is definitely and without doubt

Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
Bigger is not necessarily better. But in some instances, yes, it is.
BTW, I believe the last word is "group"

I rely upon the authority of LJ, as seconded by Sean:

Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
"Quote" is in the upper right hand corner on my 'prosilver' screen. The last word in the thread is the last word someone writes in their post unless they have a 'signature' line. With some posters, the late LoCAtek for example, the avatar includes words below it that fall below the last written word and her signature.Lord Jim wrote:Ah, but that word does not actually appear in the thread...the word "Quote" does...

Re: BSG's "Complaints"....
But Sean's point (incorrectly identifying the wrong last word as 'page' when that is followed by 'of') is that all words that appear only as a result of the existence of the thread are in fact "part of" the thread. At this moment, the absolutely last thread-dependent words at the bottom of my screen are
457 posts o Page 23 of 23 o 1 ... 19 20 21 22 23.
These of course are followed by (left to right) such choices as "Return to News & Suggestions", "Jump to: News & Suggestions. Go" "Who is online" etc. down to the very last on-screen words 'phpBB group'.
Sean's contention is that all following "23" (or whatever current page number you see) are independent of the thread itself. LJ has semi-agreed but his hesitation is presumably based upon the idea that in fact all the words down to the final word "group" are also dependent upon the existence of the thread. If the thread did not exist, the word 'group' would not be seen.
I think BSG may have been about to complain about that

Can someone please have the last 'last word'?
