Man the sage brush is really blowing down the street through the two CSB forums....
The new CSB has had no posts at all, all day.....
CSB Classic, has had a few "Happy Easter" posts, but that's it....
I don't think either of them have had more than a small handful of posts all week.
Maybe things will get better once Gar has figured out how to combine them into a single forum.

One opinion: Who (of any serious significance) gives a rat's rear anyway? Both places will still have steve and eddie thus rendering them uninhabitable. This place is infinitely better for the lack of them and renders the CSB unnecessary.

I believe there are now just a grand total of five people left on both forums combined who post there and not here:
Gwen, editec, Steve, Kiko, pexxa and Captain Ray...
While of course there are at least a couple of dozen people who post over here that don't post over there....
And a few who still post on both,...though these folks, including myself, now do the lion's share of their posting here...(and Steve is desperately trying to run us off or have us silenced. Apparently the participation level hasn't fallen enough to suit him....What a fantastic asset he is for Gar and his efforts to try to build a viable forum...

It's amazing to me that Gwen can look at these undeniable facts and still to this day delude herself into believing that she did a perfectly cracker jack job as admin....
Not too long ago she expressed the view that the only thing she thought she did wrong was that she wasn't enough of a dictator....She was too tolerant and even handed, don't you know....

It seems to me "The Steve Factor" creates a real conundrum for Gar....
On the one hand, at this point, Steve probably accounts for about 70% of all the content, (if you want to call Steve's drivel "content") Gar has on his forum....
So without Steve, the posting traffic drops to almost nothing, (at least initially)
But Steve and his behavior is also the biggest single impediment Gar has to ever successfully getting more people to post on his forum, either bringing back some previous posters or attracting new ones...
The same things about Steve that made a lot of people decide that they would prefer to be where he wasn't, will also have the same affect on any new people who happen by the forum....
On top of this Steve is actively and openly sabotaging Gar's efforts to draw in more people. He proactively and aggressively seeks to drive people off, he's even so crazy that he's actually appealing to Gar to try and help him sabotage his own board....
Steve believes that Gar has some sort of an obligation to keep open a forum that exists solely for Steve and the tiny handful of friends that he still hasn't managed to alienate. I suppose if another wing nut who shared Steve's paranoid delusions, and never questioned him or proved him to be a yammering know nothing, it would be okay with Steve if that person wanted to stay on the board, but nobody else....
Steve seems to think that he has some sort of entitlement to expect this from Gar.

It is difficult to know where to post with the G-Man potentially amalgamating both Boards into one. Alice did ask which one to post on, as did I, but he hasn't answered as yet.
I certainly would rather make the amalgamation easier for the G by not posting on the Board that will be Incorporated. As I don't know which that Board is I tend to post more on the format I like.
Though also waiting for the fixes to occur seems sensible, particularly when various aspects of the new Board annoy me. Which is why my posts are so infrequent, except when my family is under some kind of strange and fanciful vendetta based on the fact that Steve has been admonished and we haven't.

I'm pretty sure the ultimate plan is to have the CSB Classic replace the New CSB forum but apparently Gar is running into some unforseen technical problems in doing this. I know he said he made one attempt but it didn't work. I also know he said that he was trying to find some way to transfer the existing posts on the New CSB into the old board.
If trying to figure out how to do that is what's causing the hold up as far as I'm concerned he needn't even bother. The percentage of stuff that's been posted on the new board that would be worth preserving is infinitesimal; flushing it all would be no great loss. (Maybe he can preserve it in some archive format for those who don't think they've read enough copy and paste apocalyptic paranoid conspiracy screeds) The only one who would miss this tedious repetitive crap is of course the one who produced it. I hope Gar's not incurring this delay and going to additional expense just to make that one ying yang happy....
I'm pretty sure that after Steve, based on the comments I've read by other posters the second biggest factor holding down participation at the new CSB is the glitchy, cumbersome, and unintuitive functionality of that forum. (I recall several posters stating that as their reason for staying away)
It would be truly ironic if the reason Gar is delaying getting rid of the number two reason people are staying away from his forum is in order to try and keep the number one reason people are not coming to his forum happy.
(It won't matter anyway; whatever Gar does Steve will just up the ante; like he is with his demands that the people who prove what a liar and a fool he is be silenced. The only reason Gar exists is to do what Steve tells him to do, as far as Steve is concerned. )

I am pretty sure that when the new CSB went live we were advised it was under test conditions. That being said you could easily say that the test didn't work as expected and drop the lot.

I wonder why he didn't join me in a call for IP comparisons when No-Shit-Sherloklewis when he first posted on the CSB? The same could be said for Jasonxyz. No matter what the checks show, I know for a fact there won't be any link to any IP used by Gob or myself.
