After further review, I will grant your wish.

I do hope O-n-W hasn't actually granted this wish. There is no need to pay heed to anything the poisonous little turd rubato wants.

I couldn't agree more.

Of all of rube's many unattractive qualities, the least attractive of all has to be his toxic, bullying penchant for gratuitously insulting people who have never been anything but civil.

That piece of trash isn't fit to polish oldr's snow mobile; oldr has more decency, character, and moral worth in one fingernail then rube has in his whole odious and miserable being.

Oldr probably stopped posting because he wanted to resist calling rubato a son of a motherless goat cocklump knobcheese .

How long would it take to find an equivalent post direct against myself by one of the above?

Oh, wait, this is a whole THREAD devoted to even worse and more toxic behavior.

I haven't been on the board but for a few seconds for a few days. I really hope oldr isn't gone because this board is already pretty dead of late.

He has a lot going on in his life right now, (especially the situation with his mother-in-law) and that may be why we're not hearing from him.

How long would it take to find , clueless twaddle, diversionary drivel, more clueless twaddle...
You can't even begin to comprehend the huge difference between giving shit to someone who regularly tosses it in every direction, versus hurling unprovoked insults and abuse at people who have never been uncivil, and who's only "sin" is daring to disagree with you, can you?

You have piled insults and abuse on oldr (and he's not the only one) repeatedly for doing nothing more than presenting an opinion opposed to yours. People who have never posted a rude or uncivil word directed at you or anyone else. You're the only poster here who engages in this behavior and you do so as a regular matter of course.

This is behavior of yours is no doubt a significant contributing factor to why you receive so few replies to any discussion you start. No doubt there are people here who would just as soon not have to put up with the condescending, sneering, gratuitous abuse that inevitably comes to anyone who disagrees with anything you post.

While I certainly understand and respect that position, personally I find the very idea of such a transparent intellectual charlatan and poseur daring to try to be condescending quite amusing, so when it's directed towards me it just rolls off...

I have a strong dislike for bullies, and I prefer to stand up to them and put them in their place. However I fully understand why some would decide it's not worth the time, energy or grief.

Whilst I have given the benefit of the doubt to Rubato of several occasions... even my legendary patience is wearing a bit thin.

So I've been saving this one for a special occasion.

Seriously Rubato, stop being an illmannered, dickless, asswipe. You have seriously stepped over the line by abusing oldr. Either stop it or please wander off and take your abuse elsewhere.

I must say... If @W doesn't stop being so mean to people I might have to put her on Ignore. Such language insults my sensibilities and should not be tolerated.

And yes rubato. I do have a mirror in my house. In fact I have a picture of me using it....

Rick, rube has had a pattern of being gratuitously insulting to oldr for a long time, (pretty much any time he's posted any opinion contrary to rube's) but here's what is being discussed specifically:

It was in the "Food Porn" thread. Here's the link to rube's post:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10805&p=137347&hil ... op#p137347

It's only a few posts from there to see where oldr says he'll grant rube's wish.

Thanks for this email mate.
Don't know if I'll be back. If I do come back it might only be for writing in the alcohol thread. It's been theraputic for me and my recovery.

Rubato brought out a few character flaws in me and I need to work on them. Gotta get myself "right" and get rid of my "stinkin thinkin". Haven't drank nor had the need to so no worries there.

Just got news at 3:30 pm today (have no idea what that works out to in down-under time) that my mom-in-law died. Gotta console the wife and family. She spent two+ weeks in hospice getting progressively worse. But she wasn't in pain (as far as we could see) and just stopped breathing. She's in a better place now. She was a good lady and will be missed by all who knew her.

You can share this with the board and if you do, just cut and paste this whole email (changing the names of course). Rather it comes from me than third party if you know what I mean.
thanks again.

Good cheers to you and the family and to EVERYONE at Plan B

Clearly oldr has much more important things to deal with than the wimpy pseudo math-challenged scientist's taunts.

Indeed he does.

I think it's a real tribute to oldr's character and what kind of man he is, that his focus is on what he sees as his "character flaws" and his need "to work on them"...

That stands in such sharp contrast to the complete denial attitude and lack of character of the person around here with the deepest "character flaws" and the most obvious need "to work on them"....

Like I said, not fit to polish his snow mobile...

Quite a while, actually. The three people who posted above that post of yours were Gob, Lord Jim, and Joe Guy; neither Gob nor Jim nor Joe has ever expressed any desire for you to stop posting. Even though their responses to most of your posts are usually quite insulting, they always seem to accept your right to say what they consider stupid things, for the purpose of amusement if nothing else. (And I'm pretty sure that oldr_n_wsr himself never said any such thing to you.)

That said, it does appear that oldr's absence is mostly due to other more important events in his life. But I've been around here and CSB long enough to recall that when Hen quit CSB in a huff once upon a time, rubato was the one to start a thread urging her to come back. (For which he was excoriated and insulted by editec, and I never forgot about who was on which side of that exchange.) I would really hope that rubato can in this case show that he does have a conscience and make an exception to his usual scorched-earth, no-apologies posting style. I've frequently disagreed with oldr_n_wsr myself, but I recognize his fundamental goodness and decency and I really hope he does start posting here again when his off-board life allows it. And I really hope that rubato feels the same way as I do about this.

That's very well put indeed.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
