RB is now a Nana

What a week! Xeno & DIL rang on Friday to say that DIL had been sent to the hospital with high blood pressure and they had decided that baby Owen who was already overdue should now make his appearance, an exhausting, sleepless 4 days later Owen arrived only to be whisked off to SCBU with his poor parents only getting a brief glimpse of their new son. My poor DIL was shattered as was Xeno who had been at her side throughout and hadn't eaten or slept in 3 days and was himself on the verge of collapse. Brahms and I had been on standby the whole weekend so weren't doing much better in the sleep deprivation stakes ourselves. We shot off to Swindon as soon as Xeno gave the word and spent the next 48 hours worrying, visiting DIL & Xeno at the hospital and waiting for permission to see our grandson in SCBU.
Xeno & DIL did fantastically, it was such a stressful time for them both and they were just so brave and supportive of each other and thankfully after a few days Owen was allowed out of SCBU to rejoin his parents on the main ward and Nana RB got to finally have a cwtch!

Our DIL was finally allowed to come home with Owen yesterday evening so the family is now all together and starting on their new lives together.
Naturally as a proud Nana I think Owen is gorgeous and I am completely smitten with him.
