Just a quick note to let you know I got in an accident on my motorcycle this past Friday.
Some drunk turned left right into me. Thankfully no broken bones, just a severe hip bruise, some bruised ribs and road rash on my forearm.
There are other very minor cuts and bruises too, but nothing to write home about.
Bike is in running condition but the foot brake pedal is mangled. Gas tank and other parts of bike are dented and scrapped up.
Having trouble walking right now as the hip feels weak and it's painful lifting my leg to take the next step.
Surprising that I can put weight on it with very little pain. Taking it easy for a few days and I should be fine soon.
I refused any kind of opium/narcotic based pain killers. On Ibuprofin instead.
Helps somewhat as I can feel more pain toward the last hour before I am supposed to take the next pill.

Please tell him:
1 - glad he's mostly ok and hope he heals quicky; and
2 - really glad he wasn't the drunk turning his vehicle into someone!

Get a referral from Sue for a NY PI attorney - teach that driver to be looking for motorcyclists in future!
eta: I just looked again and see you were hit by a drunk driver - please take his last dime to teach him a much-needed lesson!!

Good to be back. Not totally healed, going to a hip guy next week as the hip still hurts and sometimes has a mind of it's own. Ribs are still sore but I have had ribs broken and know it takes forever for them to heal. I thank my higher power I was going slow and not run over. I can imagine how bad it could have been.

I was up at the lake house over hte July 4th weekend and was going to ride dads Harley. I sat on it and did a little leaning from side to side and the hip said "NO WAY". So I have not riden since the accident. Need a new brake pedal for my bike. I do have to get off my ass and order it. But the wife is happy I'm not riding so there is an upside as I like to keep her happy. But I will be riding again before long.
I guy in my group bought a camper and a trailer and is heading to Sturgis. I am soooooo jealous.
