Welsh wails Whales!!

Frigging typical.

I've booked four days off to take a trip to the coast, leaving tomoz. Hen is already on a month off, having been made to use up some of the flex time she’s built up.

When I first moved to Aus, one of the things I really wanted to do was go whale watching. My first whale watching trip was a washout, didn't see a whale all day, though we did visit penguin breeding groundson it. My second, which was in the same year as my first, sold me on it so much that I vowed to come back each year I lived here.

This will be the third trip.

We're going to be staying in Pambula, one of our favourite little seaside villages. We've hired a cottage for two, (kids are staying home,) and will be treating our 2 boys to a holiday.

BUT, as can only happen to me, the weather forecast for the day's watching tour I've booked is forecast....
South Coast area

Cloudy.

Medium (50%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and early evening.

The chance of a thunderstorm in the north in the afternoon and evening.

Winds northerly 15 to 25 km/h tending southeast to southwesterly in the morning then increasing to 25 to 40 km/h in the early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 13 with daytime temperatures reaching between 19 and 26.
Fuck my luck, I bet the light is as flat as a witches’ tit the whole time I'm there too.

Down the coast now. I got lucky, they've cancelled today's trip, and booked me on Friday's. The forecast that day is miles better.
Patchy morning fog. Mostly sunny day. Light winds becoming northeast to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h during the day then becoming light during the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 5 and 10 with daytime temperatures reaching 22 to 27.

Got out whale watching today, saw quite a few whales. Took 200+ photos, and got a couple of whales breaching, possibly one of the most spectacular things in nature! Wil stick any goodn's on the blog.

Beautiful pix, Gob.

And for the record, your noisemaking's not so bad, even if not my cuppa.

Beautiful photos, Gob.

I've only ever seen whales from the shore, once, across the road from the Davenport Roadhouse in Davenport, CA, just north of Santa Cruz. Sadly, we were not prepared, and had no binoculars. Even so, it was spectacular!

Add to list of things to do -- go whale watching.

edited because I can't spell.

Gob wouldn't notice. Even if he did he wouldn't be able to make a fuss.
