Meade! Happy Birthday, General!!

Here's a good grammar anthem for your birthday:

And I thought you'd like this one, too - how a grammarian responds to insult:

Hope it's a great one, and many, many more! :ok :D

My granddaughter says "You're not a grammar Nazi". Why, thank you my dear. "No, you're a grandpa Nazi". That's her revenge for me keeping track of how many times she says "like" in one sentence.
Rigor Mortis Abt is brewed only once a year, and is sold in April until stocks last.
I kid you not - "until stocks last" :shrug

Thank you one and all for good wishes - my hope is to get at least one present today that's wrapped in birthday paper (sigh).

My friends at the General Meade Society in Philadelphia will be attending the Laurel Hill festivities on Dec 31st, Gob. I shall not be doing so as we have our annual New Year's Eve bridge and wine binge going on, chez amigos.

Interesting to note that poor old Meade didn't make it to 64 years of age. He died in 1872 at the age of 56. Whatever the view of his military career, his legacy remains in the lighthouses he built, several of which remain standing, in New Jersey at Barnegat, Absecon, Cape May, and in Florida at Jupiter Inlet, Sand Key, Seahorse Key, Rebecca Shoal and Cayo Sombrero.
