A former car-talkian, MG McAnick cannot get on to the boards. He may have signed up a while ago under an old email. Can one of the admins help him out. His current email is ceasbury@gmail.com.

There is no user registered with either that email address or user name - either he'll need to sign up for a new account or let me know what user name and email address he wants to use and I'll see if I can add an account for him.

What do we know of the background of this MG McAnick? Have we done a background check? Are his fingerprints in the database? Is he a young, unattached male just trying to get on this board with nefarious intent?

RB - he tried to register under the name and email I have listed in my original post. He gets a message that says the user name and email are in use.

Can you please register him using that name and email, and then either email him or PM me a temporary password?

ETA: FYI, others from Le Chat may be migrating over, over time. Dennis was the one who ran that board and his access goes with him, so next summer, the URL will probably expire. Many who post there are former cartalkians, and some of us still occasionally post in both places.

Very sad circumstances, but I'm sure all would join me in offering a hearty welcome to all Le Chat House posters to join us here!

Sorry for your loss, too.

It would certainly be nice to have some old friends join us here, (though obviously NOT as a result of such horrible circumstances.)

BTW, for anyone from Le Chat House who may be checking out this thread and wondering why I haven't posted over there in such a long time:

Apparently during one of that board's "upgrades" my registration must have been kicked out. I emailed Dennis several times through the board's system for registration and never heard back from him. Since I had never engaged in any behavior that would have gotten me banned (the last thing I posted there before my registration stopped working was about was the birth of my son) I assumed that either the system wasn't working properly and Dennis wasn't getting my emails, or that they might have been going to his spam folder and he wasn't seeing them.

Car Talk... Café D'Artre... that was the heyday (IMO). So many interesting posters/posts. Vital. I trust LCH folks won't find this place too rough and ready - they'd make a terrific contribution. (And yes, I know there's LCH folks here already).

Denniz didn't respond to me either, LJ. Now I know it must have been on purpose

Is this the beginning of an influx?
Where is the vetting process?
I don't know if I am comfortable letting them in without proper vetting.
