If I'm stepping on toes Let me know.
I figured we'd do this in rounds and whittle down as required
First round rules:
Up to 5 options
One day
You can change votes
Comments and critiques of themes welcome
Last minute additions will be added to the next round provided they are independently seconded.
Edited to add elimination guidelines:
I'm expecting 3 to 5 to make it to the next round barring things like a 5th place tie and new additions.
P.S. Don't forget to mouse around and check out sub-forums etc. on the samples.

I chose Absolution, Nexus, Twilight, Dirtyboard and RedSilver.
I prefer mostly Simple Unobtrusive and easy to Read forums the exception being DirtyBoard which I find visually interesting.

We(I) were(was) lucky in that there were exactly 10 choices put forward in the other thread.

I'll restate my opposition to ProFormell:
The new post in forum image isn't obvious enough.

I only voted for 3 ProFormell which would be my preferred choice, Static as thats nice and clean and a bit different to the usual forum colours, and Hestia Purple for the same reason albeit that it might be a wee bit girly.

Forum images can be changed - I could probably nick them from other styles

My fave is Nexus (I'm assuming you can change the top image) simple colors, easy to read, with a small touch of flare.

The twilight theme kinda has a generic video game forum feel to it.
Another board I use has the
subSilver theme and I kinda like the look of it.
And I voted for 610nm and ProFormell out of the available options, but you're right about the unread/read forum images in ProFormell not being very distinct from each other.

I thinking that would just be more work for you admin types.

Thats a wary yessssssss to changing the forum top banner - I am not the worlds best graphic artist so any banner I make would be pretty basic if we have someone here who is a dab hand with graphics then the world is our lobster...if not then top banner is likely to be on the plain side.
re the new posts thingys in ProFormell - have a look at the icons in 610mn they look like theyd fit nicely with the Proformell skin and seem nice & clear.
It shouldn't be that fiddly it should
in theory just be a simple case of uploading the icons over the top of the proformell ones they should essentially have the same file names .....

If ProFormell makes it to the next round (which it looks like it will) and it's still a multiple option thing (I'm not going to make rules for that one till I know how this shakes out) I'll split it into an "as is" "w/new icons" selection.

I don't mind plain/basic perhaps we could run a "design a banner" contest I think we may have one or two artistic types here. (I might submit one if I have some software on hand that can do it and I'm so inclined.

I only voted for options where the author of the post is off to the left, rather than ones formatted like the current skin, because it's more readable for me. So for me that eliminated ProFormell, Static and Dirty Board. Minimalist was too boring, and the black background in TwilightBB will drive me crazy after a while. So I voted for the remaining five.

GAACK, not for this girl. Logging into something that purple would have me running away.
I like Absolution and RedSilver.

I edited my vote from RedSilver to ProFormell. You guys have convinced me to give it a second thought.

Should I keep future skin polls to two days or shorten it to 1?
At the current time I'm expecting polling to be done between the weekend and mid next week (though possibly longer depending on consensus (or lack thereof)) We could shorten that if you all want a shorter timer.
Comments? Admin preference?

I’ve grown accustomed to the default skin that we are currently using.
I did look over the other offerings and found that either the font was too small or the colours too outrageous.
The link that Grim provided for Subsilver 2 suffers from having a small font too.
