I was wondering, out of the 17 months you will continue to be employed, how many actual days will you end up working? You seem to have a wogo (work one get one day off) plan and it seems you still had a good bit of leave left any way. Any plot to get an infected hangnail and take medical leave for the rest of your time? Maybe you could claim PTSD from your motorcycle accident?

Ok, let's do the maths....
There are 523 days to 1st October 2017
That's 77 weeks.
I "work" 5 days a week
That's 385 working days
I currently have 5 weeks leave saved up so that's 25 days off.
Making it 360 working days.
Next working year, (July to end June,) I will get another 7 weeks leave or 35 working days
Making it 325 working days until I retire.
Though I do have 6 months "personal leave" saved up, so, as you say, it may be worth having another accident.

Can you cash out on the personal time if you don't use it?

Well that just sucks. Get Hen to back teh car over you. Just half the car, not the whole thing. Shouldn't hurt too badly and I think you can milk it for 6 months.
