I googled it, never watched much of DS 9, though, so I did miss the reference.

Yes...and Kai Winn was an absolutely vicious villain.

She was so memorable that it surprised me to hear that she only appeared in 14 episodes. Bashir was in almost every episode but very few of his scenes stick out for me, and the same can be said of some other characters, like the O'Brians. But then I didn't gain a full appreciation for the series until it was done and I watched it again in re-runs.

Louise Fletcher does villains well...so does Mark Alaimo. (Gul Dukat)
