I think I have a solution for you CP...
Call 911, and have the cops come and arrest that guy who's holding a gun to your head forcing you to open threads you don't want to read...

If only it were that simple. Then again in a few months it just might be.

We could always get shot of wes, he's not contributing anything here, and seems intent on being a complete pain in the arse.

If you're suggesting banning wes, I absolutely wouldn't support that...
I don't think just being generally annoying and inane are really grounds for banning a poster...
The one an only time we banned a poster, it was for a lot more than merely being a jackass...
Personally I have him on ignore, though out of curiosity I occasionally will open one of his posts. (Usually when he's been quoted, to check and see if what he's been quoted as saying will look any less ridiculous if you read the full context. So far it hasn't.)

I echo LJ's sentiment and reasoning. As annoying and obnoxious as wesw can be at times, he doesn't post anything on a consistent basis that would in my opinion merit a banning.

I have wesw on ignore. And thanks to someone pointing it out recently, I have turned off all sig lines.
CP, I "farm" all unread posts once a day. All those in which I have no interest are simply opened and then I hit the "back" arrow without bother to read anything.
Having put the most recent posts on top and in the Page #1, it's possible to very quickly clear up the unread list and examine the ones that are worth it.

Agreed. Put him on block if you can't skip past them. And honestly, all the whining and suggestions of banning etc are just feeding his martyr complex. Ignore, ignore, ignore.

This.
Good god. LJ voted for HRC, and I find myself agreeing with many of his posts. I think its about time to sign him up for Pantsuit Nation, California

Yeah...
That's not happening...
I find myself agreeing with many of his posts.
Well, take a look at my critique of Trump's appointments Guin...
You'll probably agree with some of them, but I'm sure you'll find plenty to disagree with...

I met that poster fTf and would agree that the poster had "issues".
Other than that we had a decent sit down at AGD's house in Antioch.
I do miss AGD.

I do too Dales. He would be apoplectic about Trump, and heading to DC with a pitchfork, and his copy of the Constitution. We should all do the same.

I don't have wes on ignore, but I DO do something like Meade does to clear up threads I have no interest in reading (including cricket, soccer, and threads that consist of nothing but rubato and Jim and Gob repeatedly insulting each other). All the YouTube videos do annoy me quite a bit, though: nobody here watches them, and if wes wants to find and watch videos why can't he just go do that by himself without posting them here?
I definitely would not be in favor of a ban. I was quite reluctant to ban Locatek, since at times she made some really positive contributions here, but ultimately voted for the ban because by threatening people IRL she certainly crossed the line. (Actually, I've been thinking about Loca a bit recently...I think she and wes might have gotten along quite well: they could have had their own welding thread and left the rest of us alone.

)
ETA: Yes, I miss Andrew, too...His posts on the law were always scholarly, thorough, and surprisingly readable.

Nice way to speak ill of the dead. You aren't even worthy of scraping the shit off of his boots. Please do as you promised and stay the fuck away from here.

Yeah, he was a real sweetheart when he was calling my mother a whore, my wife a slut, or me a child predator. He was sweet and kind when he accused LJ of molesting his daughter.
He was a nasty, despicable turd and I am honestly glad he is dead.
Your defense of the indefensible is quite telling.

I was more thinking of us all chipping in to take a contract out on him.
I have him on ignore too, it saves having to read his drivel.
He's like rubato, but without the saving grace of rube's unintentional humour.
wesw is typical of the type who abuses the hospitality of forums, completely and utterly without manners or gratitude, unintelligent, bigoted and fuckwitted.
The nice thing is we only have to put up with him here, if you choose to read his shite that is. There may be others who have to put up with him IRL, poor bastards.
