PMs

Post by Gob »

Thank you for the reply!

I think that error you are receiving is a caching issue in phpbb. If you
clear the cache in phpbb it should work ok after. Please let me know if
you need assistance with that! By chance, have you tried deleting again
after receiving that error?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Take Care!

Okay, so how much do I need to pour into my keyboard? Just enough to soak it, or should I just use the whole bottle?

How do you "purge the cache" for the PMs? (Step by step , please) I can't get old messages deleted so that I can view new PMs.

Ha, you do not need to do anything, I purged the cache for us all!!

Bow before my mighty powers ye mortals!!

This relates to someone stating that they could not delete any PMs from their list. (I think I remember it being Scooter.)

If you delete a PM now, does it go away?

Still getting this message when I try to delete:
The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.
"Trying again" produces the same result...

Logging out and logging back in didn't make any difference.

It occurs to me that there could be another solution to this problem...

I remember that originally you could only have 50 messages stored, and Daisy went in and raised it to 100. Maybe the limit could be raised again (to something like 1000) and then there would be plenty of space for new PMs, even if the older ones can't be deleted.

Have updated the message limit to a thousand. Can someone tell me if this has any effect please?

Please consider deleting old/sent messages that you no longer need to hold onto

Raising the limit solved the problem of being able to access new PMs for me.

Isn't the issue precisely that we can't delete PMs, because we get that "submitted form is invalid" error?

I have no problem deleting PMs and the 1000 limit must be what solved the problem people were having. The 100 limit was too small anyway.

More like Mr Lazy & unpopular. I haven't gone through and deleted many of the messages I've accumulated in the last 10 years. I had reason to save a few when I was preparing to destroy Quaddriver and there were a few others I kept to help me remember some things. A lot of funny comments I want to keep but that's about it. I figure with the 1000 message limit, I'll never have to delete anything.
