Absolution is now installed and working - as I said before I'm not brilliant with graphics so the site logo is a bit on the rough side - anyone who wants to have a go at a better one do feel free! I can let you have a copy of the original png file to work with if you want it.

To change your skin go to your user control panel, click the board preferences tap, and select absolution from the drop down list

You'll notice that it's now a little bit wider than the previewed style - this is the quickest way to fix the problem that came up over large images breaking the layout.

I know this is going to show just how computer challenged I really am, BUT, what is a Skin?

Miles, the skin is the overall appearance of the forum.

You can see this by changing the skin. At the top left, click on “User profile”
Open the tab “Board preferences”
From the table find “My board style” and click on the triangle thingo that opens the options.
Click on Absolution
Click on Submit

Ok, but what is a skin exactly and how will it change what I see? What will change from what I am seeing now?

Miles, the best way to know is to switch and see. You can switch back easily if you don't like it.

Basically colors, layout, etc. are different in the new skin.

If I knew that it would go this smoothly and successfully, I would have suggested that we be a bit more ambitious, like solving the conflict in the Middle East.

I preferred ProFormell. Is this where I pitch a fit? Or do I have to go all over the board alleging a MOTU/admin conspiracy to silence me and deprive me of the skin of my choice?

Please let me know my options, and also if there is a prison for dissidents.
