Too bad whoever baked it didn't run some red and black Twizzlers down the extremities to simulate the veins and arteries — although I suppose it would have been too difficult to suspend them in their proper position rather than having them fall to the bottom of the baking pan.

BSG's picture reminded me of Boiled Baby Pudding, a traditional British pudding familiar to devotees of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin novels. (As in Master and Commander with Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany.)

There's a recipe on YouTube. She also, while she's at it, references the similarly off-puttingly named, Spotted Dick pudding.

Sorry Scooter, that I did not notice this earlier. I really like the first post. I do have trouble keeping track of pencils and I have never tried keeping one shoved up my nose. I must try that. Indeed, I do hope it was a special day. Interesting that you share it with the father of the country down South of you. I am glad you hang out here.
