Gob and American woman

Post by liberty »

Does anyone here have GOB, and American woman's email address?
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Why do you ask, Two Dogs Trading?

I'm just curious how their lives are going. I want to know if Hatch has any children. I want to know what Gob is doing now; has he taken up a second job? And I want to know how Hen is doing. Just curious, that's all.

How many people still post on this board regularly?

I think there are perhaps 11 regular posters. In no particular order BSG, Meade, Scooter, Joe Guy, BB, Big RR, BP/SG, Sue, Crackpot, you lib, and me; I know that there are a few lurkers who rarely post. Eddie is often around and a few others, no doubt: but familiar names such as Rubato and Jarlaxle disappeared without trace. My daughter has instructions to tell you when I finally fall off the twig but I have to admit it's fairly low on a long to-do list.

I don’t know what your age or condition is, but I suspect I’m going to beat you to the final destination. I’m pushing 80 and have a condition that could turn on me without warning. The interesting part is that otherwise I’m in outstanding shape, I can still dance, I can run, and I can do some heavy work, despite the fact that I spent years as a technician where the heaviest thing I picked up was a screwdriver.

By the way, I’m selling all of my property to my daughter, or at least I’m selling her the title, and retaining the usage and fruitage (I believe those are the correct terms; it’s been a long time) for the minimum legal price, which I believe is a dollar. I’ll retain the use and benefits until I die, and after that they will revert to the title holder. She’s a pretty smart girl, so I don’t think she’ll do anything foolish like selling the title. I hope not, at least..

Per lib:
I’m pushing 80 and have a condition that could turn on me without warning.
Most of us could probably say something along those lines. I'm 77 in a few months; had a full Letterman (5x bypass surgery) 14 years ago and stay fit with regular bike and weights at the gym. I've lost three good friends in 2025, two of whom were not, as far as I knew, ill.

One of the problems with being our age is that we tend to over-react. A friend was embarrassed the other day about forgetting something and she was worried that Alzheimer's is just around the corner. I told her that she always seems sharp to me; and that the same incident of forgetfulness 40 years ago she'd probably laugh it off. Just as when I get a pain in my shoulder I wonder if this is the big one come to finish me off, while 40 or even 20 years ago the same pain would cause me to assess what heavy weight I was trying shift yesterday that I probably should have been smarter about.

Yeah I just hit 75, my heart beats around 59 pm which is tachycardia and the muscle is dying by degrees. I had a triple-bypass in 2017. One major branch of the left carotid is 100% blocked and the littler guys work overtime. My feet hurt. At least I can walk for 30 minutes. Especially if there's breakfast after - overnight oats and a bagel (healthy diet, right?). At the worst, 2 years should see me off. At best, who knows?

I've asked my wife to let you know if/when I exit this reality. Maybe she will and maybe not. She thinks I spend too much time with y'all anyway. But then she thought Facebook and Plan B were the same thing.

In case I don't get to say it myself later, I've "known" some posters for many years and have been glad for the talks with all of yez here without exception. The only one I met FTF died soon after. One I tried to meet way back in the Cafe D'Artre days died before it happened. Can't really recommend looking me up

Tachycardia is a fast heart rate. 59 bpm is a good resting heart rate. Are you sure it's not your brain that's beating incorrectly?

You need to stick around longer than a couple of years. I don't want to lose you or any other Plan B-people. We've all lost enough of us already.

Oh serves me right for not checking my UH list of a Thousand and One Medical Wrongs. Bradycardia - something to do with deflated balls I think. Below 60 when you're sleeping is not bad but my 59 is not a resting rate . . . dizziness, light-headedness, fatigue, confusion, shortness of breath. And that's just getting up three times at night to pee/repee/repee.

I won't go into the urology surgery scheduled for April . . . except to say that my urologist (Irene) is tall, model-type, blonde, amusing, and in prime late-30s and . . .

Margaretta is considering giving me an unrelated urological-style operation herself in May if necessary.

You gonna ask her to keep you awake during the procedure?

You might need some serious sedation for that.

I didn’t realize you guys were as old as you are. In that case, I may not win this final race. To tell you the truth, I’m not terribly eager to win. I just try to be realistic and pragmatic and see the world as it really is.

I’ll add a note to my death file asking Witchy to let you guys know when the end comes for me. I hope I don’t forget, which is always a possibility for me.

And I finally need to get a lock for my filing cabinet. Did you know you can’t just go to Home Depot and buy one? Evidently Every lock is unique to each filing‑cabinet company, at least as far as I can tell.

Another thing: I need to put my daughter on my bank account as POD after my wife. You guys ever think about your own death? I think it’d be sweet to die in your sleep, that’d be great. Sudden death in your sleep, you can’t beat that. The only problem is who will take care of my wife after I’m gone.
