A hook

That's what PlanB needs to draw new members. CSB has no hook so luring new members is rather difficult.

The Darwin Philosopy Forum has the DarwinAwards to draw folks in.

We need a hook.

Anyone have any ideas?

How about every year we post a calendar of the board’s females in naked and compromising positions?

I was really hoping someone would take this seriously.

Oh well.

That sounds like a decent idea. How do we get people to that facebook page?

I think it's a great idea, @w - what the 'hook' would be, I have no good ideas at present.

I've already bookmarked the page on my own Facebook page, but I think a page for the forum would be great - we could post occasional excerpts there to draw folks in.

On another note, you need an avatar. ;)

A unique idea to serve as a blog, something along the line of embarrassing family photos, maybe something fluffy or gruesome. The blog then could link to the forum. A niche has to be out there.

Either of those would be limiting.

I do like the idea of a Facebook Group page. Major problems with that is it's something else to maintain and requires editorial support to provide "hook" posts.

Just copy and past some of Gob's links.

Or link to a discussion...

I'm already putting a twitter thingie in place, gonna post links to hot topics.

A facebook fan page can also be arranged.

Gonna ask a couple of mates to do some Search Engine Optimisation for us when we're ready too.

I agree @w. We need a hook. I have no idea what our hook should be, but we need it anyway.

I'm advertising it on our website.

Both the people who visit it say they may join.

Though my mother isn't sure if she will or not.

And my sister says lots of things like that, but rarely does...

But it's a start.

Heh, well I had some kind of epiphany, or a cerebral infarct, and thought up a completely silly idea.

We could post pics of the sexiest undertakers in our respective areas. Then we would invite others to send in pics of the sexiest morticians in their area.

I told you it was silly.

I tried several times to use different things and could not get any of them to work so I said, and I quote, "Fuckity-fuckit!"

Thank you for the offer. I will keep your offer in mind if I get the urge to be more than a 'Sorry' game piece I will take you up on it.
