It appears she has deactivated and left the board.
I don't understand why that departure goes unmentioned, while certain others are recognized in a thread?
It is rather upsetting to me to see a valued contributor driven off by the defense of a poster who smears and trolls.
I am interested in hearing the thoughts of others on this situation, if there are any to be shared.

I didn't realize it had happened. I hope she wasn't pushed away by the welcome back extended to a poster who clearly didn't deserve it, given the way he has picked up exactly where he left off. I have no way of contacting her, if anyone does it would be good to let her know that there are those of us who want her back.

Wow. I am a complete arse. I hadn't noticed.
I have been too caught up in my own bits and bobs and I missed missing her.
Now I am aware, I miss her very much and wish this hadn't happened.
I hope she has a change of heart and returns. She is NOT a person who I would have ever want to leave here permanently. I am very sorry it has come to this. This is truly a sucky situation.

I don't know that I am a "complete arse" but I hadn't noticed either.
I hope she returns...

Would she not have had to request deactivation by an admin., or have those settings been changed?
eta: Knowing @w, she would have likely made the request with the express desire that no announcement be shared with the board. I am not intending in any way to denigrate the admin. process here.

She would have had to request deactivation. You can't deactivate your own account.

Rather than edit again and confuse the chronology:
I will amend my OP to say that I do understand why the admin. who deactivated her at her own request respected her wishes not to mention it - she is the furthest thing from 'board diva'.
I just want to go on record to say that I think it's troubling how she was vilified for her response to Andrew D's vile attacks, while he was admonished only for posting Scooter's personal identifying information.
@w did not post any actual identifying info about Andrew D; she did not even, as he claimed, mock his late father. I am more than a bit dismayed by the defense/tolerance of Andrew D's late actions by some here, including some posters I previously greatly admired. That he has been outrageous in his attacks is plain as the nose on anyone's face; I don't understand the tolerance for that sort of incivility.
He has posted in the past some very articulate legal analyses for the benefit of the readership; however, such analyses can be found from various free online sources with just as much intellectual rigor and without the despicable personal attacks accompanying.
Therefore, I can't see how the readership here could stand by largely silent as he repeatedly called @w a cunt, etc. For no reason other than that she'd disagreed with him and called him out on his inconsistent arguments. Much less for some to have attacked her in response to his 'diva' reappearance.
I don't have a way to contact her off-board. I wonder that she would consider returning despite knowing she is very missed by some of us; at least if she is reading, she will know that.

You can send her an email through her deactivated account. I just have.

Thanks, Hen. I will do so.
eta: I was only able to access PM here; will that send a message to her offboard email? I'm concerned she may not be reading here and don't know if one can access PMs on a deactivated account.

I thought I read a post by her a few weeks ago requesting to deactivate. something about another poster, but I don't keep up with all the interpersonal fights so I don't know who it was.

I had noticed that @W hadn't been around the last few days, but she's taken off from posting before for weeks at a time, so I didn't think anything of it...I didn't know she had de-registered....
You can mark me down as a
big @W fan...I once started a "where's @W thread?" myself back at the CSB when she had been gone longer than usual....
I
really enjoy her irascible no-bull-shit style and biting wit....I think she's a very valuable component of this place, and I hope she reconsiders...
she is the furthest thing from 'board diva'.
Man,
that's the truth;
"Scourge Of The Board Divas" would be more like it....

(one of her best qualities)
I hope she wasn't pushed away by the welcome back extended to a poster who clearly didn't deserve it, given the way he has picked up exactly where he left off.
I suspected that returning after only a two day absence that it would be highly unlikely that he had gotten his head dislodged from his ass in so short a time, which is why I didn't join in the "welcome back" that a number of posters expressed. When I saw he was posting again, I took him off ignore and decided take a wait and see attitude, and basically avoid getting into exchanges with him until I could tell whether there had been any improvement in his behavior...
I didn't have long to wait. Within a just a few hours he was taking gratuitous swings again, like he never missed a beat....

I'm curious as to why someone would deactivate an account.
Why not just stop posting?

I tried to find her account, it is gone as are ALL her posts.
If anyone should happen to contact her send her my email.
If she wants to contact me I guess she will.
Or ask her to send me hers...

Have I called anyone nasty names since I came back?
I hope that @meric@nwom@n returns. We have never got along well on this board or at The Other Place, but she was quite nice to me when I was ill from a potentially fatal medical condition (a condition which will never go away but attacks only occasionally).

Her account is no longer showing in the listed members, but I am finding her posts exactly where they were before she was deactivated.
