I know, dear. Thank you for reinviting me! I don't know what's news and what's olds, since I don't know how long it's been since I've been here. I did see that The Hatch is in college now--you and Hen must be so proud!

We are, VERY proud.

It's only "year 12" college, she's doing the International Baccalaureate program, and doing well too!

I just looked and I haven't posted since May of 2010, shame on me! Let's see, in that time period I ran out of my unemployment benefits, ran out of health insurance, got a new dog, lost my darling Littlefoot, started a beauty blog and read about 200 books. So really, not much new.

Hi Jammies! I've got you on Goodreads, so when I get there on occasion, I see how much you're reading.

May I ask if things have improved on the job/healthcare front? I surely hope so!

Sadly, bsg, things have not improved. I'm working for my mom at present, but she's planning to close her office, stop doing domestic cases and just maintain her guardianships from home. I have until May of next year to find a job. And I still have no healthcare!

What's up with you? Are you still in Montana? How's your job and your pup and everything else?

Bah! I just wrote a long reply and lost it.

Anyway, things here in Montana are great. Still have my co-pilot pictured in my avatar - she loves the leash-free running she gets to do all over Montana.

When you were last posting I was working as a public defender here; I've since gone to work as a deputy county attorney, and just advanced after a year in the office, so I have solid job security and feel very good about that. I also make a pretty good salary and have excellent health benefits. Most importantly, I have one of the best bosses I've ever had in my life, I am able to practice in accordance with my ethics, and I really like/admire nearly all the folks I work with both in my own office and in the legal community here. Things are pretty damn good!

That being said, I have a great deal of sympathy and concern for the unemployed/underemployed, after my own lengthy lay-off experience. Being out of work and not certain about finding another position was the most unsettling time of my life. You are in my prayers, Jammies. I'm glad you have supportive family around you.

Just a quick boast!

We're here in Sydney, preparing to go out for a day of sightseeing, shopping and a movie. Hatch is sat in bed studying "the physiological effects of positive and negative personality in HIV symptomology"!!!

Not bad for someone who is 3 months shy of her 17th birthday, that's dedication!!
