For your birthday, I spent the day in Stratford Upon Avon checking out the good Bard.

I had a GREAT day, I hope you do too.

A Solstice birthday - that's very, very cool!

I hope it's a great one, Jarl - you deserve it! :ok

Happy birthday Jarl!
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Good grief.

"It's not til tomorrow. It isn't the solstice on the 21st this year."

I take it that it's your 16th birthday this year then?

You sound very much like a petulant teenager.

Happy Birthday anyway. I am sorry my birthday present was the wrong size and color.

When you grow older, you'll realize that life is full of disappointments.

This thread is just one of them.

Happy Birthday, Jarl!

And since the solstice occurs at 12:30 AM on the 22nd, you're only missing it by 30 minutes.....

Hen, that sounds like a just-about-perfect day!

BSG noted I had a "solctice birthday". I simply observed (briefly, due to posting from my phone) that it wasn't this year...IIRC, it's the 22nd about every third year.

I got nothing for my birthday after last year's ultimatum: I want nothing. Any gifts addressed to me will be destroyed unopened. My birthday has been utterly miserable for the last fifteen years or so (highlighted by my good friend blowing his brains out that year), it probably will be until I croak.

I wish you weren't quite so down in the dumps, Jarl.

On the bright side, the holidays are almost in the past. :ok

Wishing you inner peace in the future, and hopes that the misery will gradually fade and be relaced by at least resignation that this is life, such as it is; and at most, a realisation of the good things that still exist. Hope that made sense - it does in my head :-)

No worries, Jarl. My ex didn't like the holidays because his father had died right before his eyes of accidental drowning. [long story] I'm sorry, you had to have this sort of association; but it's understandable. Hope you feel better, for the reasons that count for you.
