I must go down to the sea again....

Post by Gob »

seems like we haven't had a holiday for....weeks!

We'll be off tomorrow, down to Merimbula for a few days. Hatch and her boyfriend are coming too.

I'm glad Plan B is up and running before we leave!

We'll have Hen's i-pad and hopefully net access, so we may drop a post in from down there.

We've booked this place, it looks nice.

We're hoping for some real winter weather, I love being at the coast in the winter, don't you?

Bloody hell! How have you lot survived without a holiday for so long?

Don't forget to try and fit in a rainforest trip at some point... ;)

It's been hard mate, but we've struggled through!

Hoping to hit the rainforrest sometime, that'd be a hoot!

Good Lord, this man goes on so many holidays at government expense, you'd think he was a bloody Somali refugee... :P

Nice digs! Are you lot rich, or what? ;)

Nah, not rich, it's very reasonably priced, about $100 a day Au.

We've booked a table here for Tuesday evening.

Jim, if we were in the UK, I'd expect the Govt to lay on better digs for us poor bloody reformed Somali pirates/murderers and our 118 kids!

Oh, we've got our August break lined up too; http://www.themooringsresort.com.au/image But that's going to be just for me and Hen, some quiet time away together. ;)

Wel we're here. Digs are as good as promised, as is the weather. Sat in our living room with steaming mug of tea, looking out over the sea. Bliss! Won'be posting much as I find the I-pad a PITA to use.

I put out some bread earlier, and we were visited by half a dozen rainbow lorikeets. Beautiful birds!

GOB. THAT'S QUITE IDYLLIC

Be safe. Don't go in the water if your bathing suit is filled with chum.

And if you notice the beach has increased by ten fold don't walk to the water's edge looking at all the pretty shells.

Oh, and above all, have fun.

Though that's in " merimbula news" that happened many thousand miles away from here in South Australia Ray.

Thanks for the merry thoughts though! ;)

Well, we have a lovely weekend planned...

It's going to be 70 plus degrees tomorrow and Sunday, and we live 12 blocks from the beach...

So we're going to hang out at the beach, and then come home and barbecue....

Shish kabob, blended Mai Tais and fresh pineapple...

I am looking forward to it... :ok

Sounds lovely Jim.

BTW are "shish kebabs" an American Version of "shish kebabs"? You are not the first I've seen use that term.

Uhh, marinated chunks of beef (In a sherry, garlic, chili powder marinade I soaked the meat in over night...I used round steak, sometimes I do lamb instead) bell pepper, onion, tomato, and mushrooms barbecued on skewers....

(It's become a lot less work to make since Tati became old enough to use a knife.. 8-) .now she does most of the chopping and putting the meat and veggies on the skewers... :ok ...)

We have it with rice pilaf...

I always cook up a whole bunch when I do this....they make great leftovers to heat up for lunches...
