Uh, I'm a little unclear as to why, if this was so important, why you didn't didn't just post this correction in the thread about the topic....

I'm not getting the need for a thread devoted to this....

Please tell me the purpose of this thread isn't because you expect the board's admins to take the time to go in and correct minor typos in old posts for you....

No, that can't possibly be the explanation....

Could it? :?

Why not just provide a link to the cam, and anyone interested can go there?

And for any other editing changes you want to make, that are past the editing time limit, how about either copying and pasting it into a new post, with the change that you wanted to make and a note explaining that the new post is intended to replace "XYZ post" (with a link to that post.)

Or probably even better, just post something like what you posted in the OP of this thread in the relevant thread with a link back to the post that you want people to know the substitution applies to....

Someone has an incredibly inflated self importance about her contributions here.

Hey loCA, those 'views' that make your heart go pitter patter? It's you opening the thread over and over again to obsessively self congratulate.

An elderly couple are sitting eating breakfast together one morning; eggs, bacon, fried tomatoes and toast.

"You ruined my life you selfish bitch" says the old man.

"Whaaaaat?" cries his wife

"Sorry. I meant to say, please pass the salt" he replied

I'm thinking I need to start a new poll on whether admins should have the authority to delete threads that were created solely to be a pain in the ass...

How about this?

How about we have a poll on whether or not having a one week editing time limit means that the admins now have a responsibility to perform all editing requested by all posters on posts older than that?

Since apparently, for reasons that I confess bewilder me, some seem to have gotten the impression that this is the case....

I strongly suspect that if we did that, (and I'm not really seriously suggesting that we do) that the results would not be noticeably distinguishable from the recent poll on restoring unlimited editing...

I anxiously await seeing the same expectation for admin editing being expressed to Gar when he gets his board going again....

Would it be a lot of work to move this whole thread and just attach it as comments to the bottom of the thread that the editing is required in?
That way it would at least be within the right thread and the editing requirement would be seen by anyone who was interested.

It's just a suggestion - I don't know how hard it is to do, and even if it was easy i would think that it would only be if the administrators felt like doing it (as I've said somewhere else - i don't think the adminsitrators are obliged in any way to do typo edits for the membership)

I know you are being a little sarcastic in your comment, but I'm sure no poll would be needed - I'm sure that common sense would rule and declare that it would be unfair and ridiculous to make the moderators do that.

There should be no requirement on the administrators to become virtual school teachers and have to check the posts for typos, spelling mistakes, grammar or any other errors. :loon

[Mind you, if that was to happen - would anyone who hadn't made a mistake get gold stars on their posts?  ]

I'm sure that common sense would rule
And you've been posting here....how long? :P
it would be unfair and ridiculous to make the moderators do that.

I want the first gold star recognizing my superior spelling here at Plan B! Also that I always check my posts for spelling and/or grammar errors within five minutes of posting them.

Y'all are slackers! :nana
