To the lonely sea and the sky.

Ah, bliss. I have a fortnight off now. It's been hard work hanging on in there
since our last holiday, but somehow I got through.
Luckily, due to my shift patterns and flex days/days off, to get this fortnight off, I only have to use six days of my leave allowance, which still leaves me 8 1/2 weeks to use up this year. Hen unfortunately has only been able to wangle a few days off, poor bugger, due to political matters, matters which without her calm hand on the rudder would not be plain sailing.
We've got a few days down at the coast, starting this Friday,
here. We're there till the following Wednesday, (don't worry, we're taking the i-pad in order to stay in touch with you lot.)
Hatch and her paramour will be back here, looking after the hounds of hell for us.
Today I watched
TTSS, as it's not really a movie for Hen and Hatch, tomorrow we go see
The Mousetrap.
It's a hard life, but some fucker's got to do it.

Just time for a quick mention of what happened where I work yesterday.
After 25 years at the helm our Chairman retired and gave all 450 staff an extra five days holiday to take this year (paid of course).
We broke the 300m turnover yesterday on the last day of our financial year (up from 220m last year, in a recession) and the company gave us all a £2000 bonus.
So they gave us a holiday and the money to spend on one. So I'm off to the Algarve next month!
Yaaaaay go Softcat

Nice one Daisy!
So how come you guys work to the same financial year as the education sector?

The chairman set it up that way so that people could enjoy the summer after the year end.
Also the schools I work with variously have year ends in April, July and August. Confuses the fuck out of me!
We got glamorous Team 300 t-shirts to wear today. We only do business dress on Mondays.
All this on top of a massive all expenses paid party in Windsor on Saturday with all the pink champagne we could drink.
It's mad that a company can be like this in the middle of a massive downturn
But you won't hear me complaining

Have fun!
Hope it's warmer than it is here (11 degrees today).

It's meant to get to 17 degrees today, so MUCH warmer than I am used to. But sitting out here on the balcony with my cuppa, it is quite chilled.
We made it. I didn't forget to pack much. (Toothbrushes.)

I get eight days vacation the first year in my new job. Don't know when I can start taking them, I would guess sometime after my 3 month probation. Guess going hunting this year is out.

Ouch! That's rough old son!
Well so far so good, done a lot of sweet fuck all, apart from the usual high octane shagging. This could be the most boring write up for our blog; " Went to coast, dossed, drank wine, shagged, that's it." but it's all the better for that.
Going out to a famous (in Aus) chippy for tonight's meal, probably knock off some coastal walking in the next couple of days, do some photography. We've looked up a couple of class eating places down here and will choose one for our last night
. I'm getting through books by the shedload!

A paid vacation? Must be an oxymoron.

Still here at the coast, though we're travelling home tomorrow.
Tok a walk up pigeon house mountain today, the views from the top are spectacular.
Going out for a meal tonight to wrap up the trip.
Probably the most relaxing time we've had in ages, no one to be responsible to or for but us two, bliss!!
