I've never used e-mail notification, nor had the pop up, (I didn't even know they existed!)

Hopefully our two wizz kids will be able to answer.

I've always gotten email notifications of a new PM

Actually, the last couple of times I've received a PM I didn't get any notification; I just noticed that it said "(1 new messages)" up there in the Control Panel. (The first time that happened, it had apparently been 2 or three days since I'd actually received the message before I noticed it was there.) I just assumed I'd somehow, sometime, messed up my settings without realizing I'd done so...

Heya just popping in as I am away on holiday an ligging some Portugese bar wifi on a phone.

If RB doesn't pick this up I'll take a look on friday.

Hi Daisy and RB -- I'm now getting the "pop up" message that I have a new PM, but still no email notifications. Can you check and see what might be going on?

Have you checked your spam folders Guin? We did just move servers so it might be a temporary glitch, I'll have a look see if I can spot anything but the fact that your pop up now seems to be working suggests it's a problem that'll might just disappear.

Hi RB -- yes, I checked my spam filter (and had before posting the first mesage) -- nothing there. I checked my settings again as well and they are set to get email notifications. The used to come from "planbadminstrator" or some similar name. Got two PMs today and no email notifications.

LJ, has the problem rectified itself for you?

Come to think of it, I haven't gotten an email notification for a PM in some time....(I got a lot of PM's last week,and didn't get a single email notification....)

Me too - though I only got one. And I did not send it either

Well I've had a look in the ACP and theres nothing there to indicate why the notifications aren't going out, however, I've changed a setting which may or may not fix the problem, if you start getting notifications again can you let me know? Ta.

Also worth checking that nothings changed in your board settings - go to your user control panel>board preferences>Edit Global Settings> check notify me on new private messages is set to "yes"

Thanks RB, settings have not changed. Just sent test PM to LJ and asked for a reply to see if we get notifications again. Will let you know.

You must be special, I got no PM's last week and got no notification saying that I got no PM's last week.

PMs sent between LJ and myself, and no email notifications, and nothing in the spam box. I'll check my inbox and see if I can figure out the last time I got an email notification -- although I typically deleted them after I read the PM. Maybe that will help figure out what the problem is.

RB, just to pass this along, I didn't get a notification for Guin's email in either my primary or spam box, and I double checked my settings, so I know that's not it.

Is there anyone who is still getting email PM notices?

I remember one of you guys a while back saying some changes had been made to better block the spam bots, I was wondering if maybe that had in some way affected the PM notification functionality....

Obviously this isn't the world's biggest issue, (though it's a nice feature to have) you guys do a fantastic job of keeping this looney asylum up and running....

I know I'm not in the "in crowd". This is "oldr_n-wsr" World. It all revovles around me. I have you underlings to handle PM's and take care of the petty bu$4it as that is beneath me.

Funny thing is I'm not getting notification when new spammers/members register either R-B, the last one I can find is 20th August.

I've had a look in the settings and the mail setting seem to be OK, I've checked and the email address planbministrator @ gmail dot com doesn't appear to have been blacklisted.

Any ideas?
