Not Cricket...

Post by Joe Guy »

The Atlanta Falcons Julio Jones's 27-yard catch against safety Dashon Goldson keyed the Falcons second drive of the game, which resulted in a Matt Bryant field goal.

The three-pointer punctuated a 12-play, 65-yard drive. The 49ers were struggling earlier with what looked like a zone defense. There was too much space between the cornerbacks and the safeties. Also, the 49ers are used to playing more man defense.

Then late in the first half the 49ers came back with two consecutive touchdowns and the momentum seemed to have turned their way as their running and passing game began to gain significant yardage.

And then suddenly with only seconds left on the board in the first half, the Falcon's Gonzalez caught an 18 yard touchdown pass from Ryan.

24 to 14 in Atlanta's favor.

Now it's time for some dumbass half-time predictably trite commentary from a few old washed up former athletes and coaches with egos the size of a high fiber dieting elephant's monstrous turd droppings.

Great game for the Niners...

They overcame a 17 point deficit, (the largest spread a team has ever come back from in an NFC Championship Game) to pull off a victory with a very exciting finish, 28-24....

Well done.

But it's not cricket?

If it were cricket, the game would still be going on (for the next two weeks mind you). Instead, we here in the USA get to read, see, listen to the talking heads, who no longer play the game, tell us what each team needs to do to win the game. "Control the line of scrimmage, don't turn the ball over, score touchdowns (not field goals) in the red zone and don't take stupid penalties"

All I want is a good game. The Patriots are out of it and that is all I was rooting for. Tommy boy, go and have another baby with another model. Bill, no more nasty post game news conferences you don't go to. Go fishing instead.
