"Let's go to the lake for this morning's walk" we said, "we can take the puppies for their first proper walk. There's always other dogs there, we can start socialising them."
And so it came to pass......
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Aren't they growing up quickly. They are still super cute!
Good to get them socialised early. There's a woman walks her Scottish terrier nearby us that is so antisocial with other dogs she has to cross the road when other dogs are walking past. All her fault of course, if she'd socialised him when he was a puppy and rewarded him for being good around other dogs instead of yanking his lead and yelling at him when he turns psycho this wouldn't be a problem. It can still be fixed but it will take time and patience.
I'm desperate to have that conversation with her, but I think it would fall on deaf ears.
My next door neighbors son had some little puppy thing (don't remember what it was) but he came over and Apollo had a great time with teh puppy. He let the pup crawl all over him, the two went running around the yard and had a grand ole time. Sadly the owners moved away and we don't see "Kiko" anymore. But on the other side of my house the guy who moved in has a Golden-doodle" named Bailey and she's always around so Apollo now has a new playmate. My neighbor wants me to train Baily to get the newspaper in the morning like Apollo does. All he has to do is let Bailey out at 5:30am and I will teach her.
We'll see.
