I thoroughly enjoyed the final, and was happy to see that Germany actually scored and did not win on penalty kicks. One of the things I love about soccer is the tactical game where defense is a key contributor to every win, and the final Sunday was a good example of it. Meade--I disagree with your comment about "little excitement", but then I think a tactical duel can be as exciting as a continuous barrage of shots on goal, even more exciting (although I think many will disagree).
Soccer will never supplant (American) football or hockey as the only spectator sports I routinely watch, but it is something I enjoy when I get a chance to see it well played, as it was in much of the last month.

I sam maybe 10 minutes total of this whole tournament. It was a ho-hum to me but I'm happy for all those that enjoyed watching it.
